Period's over. We're in deep s*** IMO. They were better in the second, but I just don't think the lackluster offense and Babcock's crappy line combos will do anything.

If they sent it down behind the redline, I'd still call it icing the puck. They just don't get a penalty for it.

I really think there's something wrong with Kelly. Everything about him is so strange. From his facial expressions (if you're unlucky enough to see his face) to his delivery and the things he says. Maybe Alzheimers or something? Whatever it is, he's the worst play-by-play man in the NHL, by a massive, gigantic margin.

Remember he used to be the Avalanche play by play guy!

"Defending himself" had nothing to do with the high stick call. Backus got hit with the blade of the stick (while both he and Bert were falling), NOT the shaft of the stick.

It was the right call.

im watching the game on center ice and its broadcasting the one from st louis ... and these announcers are probably the worst announcers ive heard i cant stand them any more they are so dumb ... they didnt even know ... who lebda was it took them a good five mins ... is it only me that thinks about them like this or... i dont know i just cant stand these 2

If he sucks and can still score 46 goals, then every god damn Red Wing in the past decade or so has sucked. When was the last time one of our guys potted 46??

Well, if recent play dictates what's going to happen in the third...I'm guessing we take the lead in the third and give up the tying goal with a minute or two left and then lose in OT.

But, hey, I'm not usually this pessimistic...I just hope they break out of this slump soon.

My issue would be that they weren't going to call it initially. It was the very definition of incidental and very easily could have and probably should have been let go.

That said he did catch him and they killed off the penalty so "no harm (sort of) no foul"
