Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted March 26, 2007 I know there is a thread on Hank somewhere, so admin please feel free to merge. Saw this in today's Freep and it sounds like very good news: READY TO PLAY?: Babcock took a playful jab at Henrik Zetterberg, one of the few players who took the ice during an optional skate Sunday. "I just watched him out there flying around doing 100 miles an hour, doing things good enough to play," Babcock said. When Zetterberg walked by, Babcock said: "Hey, they're asking what's a matter with you? I don't know either. That's the longest holiday in sport." Babcock was kidding. "That's why coaches aren't involved" in medical decisions, Babcock said. "You'd walk out and see him like that and say, 'Get your uniform on. Let's play.' That's why they keep you out of it. That's why we've got doctors and therapy people." Zetterberg, who has been out a month with an inflamed disk in his back, said he has skated three or four times in the past few days in intervals of 15-20 minutes. "You don't want to rush back and play one game and be out four more weeks," Zetterberg said. "You just have to take one step a time." Zetterberg said he hopes to begin skating with the team soon and would like to play in a couple of regular-season games before the playoffs start.
Flip-check 6 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 It's 7am zomgwtf... =P With today there are exactly thirteen more days left in the Wings regular season schedule. I don't expect him back before the 4/5 Chicago game though, to be honest, if he returns by the first round. And that sucks extremely hard. Howeeeeeeeeever.... if he decides to surprise me and show up at Joe Louis against Columbus earlier that week, I'd be delighted to see him out there! I'll be at that game and it would be a sweet sweet thing if Henrik Zetterberg made his return then. Push him out there, Babs. Screw the doctors!

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 I'd rather have him play the last game of the regular season (maybe the last two) at most. No need to rush him back, especially with how major of a factor he'll be towards the playoff run. Nonetheless, great news.

CrossCheck24 2 Report post Posted March 26, 2007 He better pull an Yzerman type comeback for the plaoffs no matter what. It seems like team confidence is way down when he isn't playing

I'll hold off being too excited yet. A morning skate is quite different than a full practise. I am assuming he still hasn't taken part in any full contact drills with the team.
