BetweenThePipes 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 Sigh, way to blow 2 points, Wings. Dammit!!! Been hoping to introduce my new sig after a win, but now it just doesn't seem as funny after a loss like this. Oh well, at least we got a point out of it. On to the next game! Wingfan191 2 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 Wings need to win 3 of the next 4 to get in a winning playoff mode or else it's another first round exit. This is a huge mental loss for Detroit, but winning these last 4 could take the bad taste out of their mouth.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 I might be psychic but I can't create miracles. Too bad, woulda been nice to see Big Bert be the big hero I was counting on him, too, OS. We just suck at shoot outs. And against a much bettter late-game team like Dallas, we suck at the third perry-odd, too.

We suck in OT too. Despite everything I still like watching a shootout. Either way...end in a tie, or shootout loss we'd have 1 point. So, at least it was an entertaining 1 point. Guest Crymson Report post Posted March 31, 2007 way to blow a point you stupid motherf***ers god, if we play like this in the playoffs, we don't deserve s*** You know what I'm going to tell you. I'll save myself some typing, and summarize it in two words: f*** off. I'll lay out the situation again for you. We beat the other two top teams in the NHL in the last 3 days. We came home from a very big win on the road against Nashville last night, and pulled out at least a point against a very good team less than 24 hrs later. Kiss my ass. You've now on more than one occasion professed utter doom for us in the playoffs. Way to see the negative side of things, champ. You clearly think you know all, so just stop watching now and save yourself some perceived trouble.

I wish some guys I love in red had not quit tonight in the third. I would be more entertained if Dom wasn't gonna catch the flack for this, but it goes with the territory, I guess. Mike Smith has the Wings' number, if Turco doesn't, for sure.

Not that this makes it all better about blowing a 3-0 lead, but that is a good point. The wings did just beat 2 of the top teams (besides ourselves of course ) in the West in the past 3 days. That isn't too bad...5 out of 6 points. Edited March 31, 2007 by Schneids_is_awesome

Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 So any updates on Kronwall? Is he done for the season? Seriously it's more than just bad luck, he is so injury prone and it will cut short his career and limit what he can achieve. It’s a shame because I thought he looked great against Nashville. I'm pretty down after this loss. Not only did we concede a 3 goal lead but we lost a top pairing defenseman.

Mike Smith has the Wings' number, if Turco doesn't, for sure. Hasek is not a shootout goalie. I believe we can agree on this. We aren't good in shootouts this year, for sure. I think Zetta would have helped us out a lot, but who knows? I don't think the slack in the third period was quit; I think it was out-of-fuel. As you've said, the Stars are an exciting team to watch, as they play fast hockey. It's not easy to come off a hard-fought road win against a very good team, then play a team which plays as fast as the Stars do.
Lazerbeam 13 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 this game is a good example of why shootouts are totally stupid!!! Dallas never attacked 1 time in the 5 min OT--even their own announcers said they look like they were playing for the shootout!! Not 1 shot on goal in OT and they are rewarded with automatic , uncontested, scoring chances in a shootout--THATS LAME!!!
