HOCKEY MATTERS 167 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Wrong. I'm upset that they didn't come out to play. Didn't display any heart whatsoever. Made dumb mistakes, took unecessary penatlies, and hung Kipper out to dry. Losing I can take, rolling over like they did was unacceptable. Wings played great to boot! Oh, and congrats on being the bigger man. I'll continue to be small and petty. Thanks. wow. I hope I can be as mellow and objective about my team when they don't show up to play. Jiggy 12, I'm probly gonna get banned for what I'm about to say....You are the shiznit!! lol.
Guest tangstoiggy Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Thanks, just thought id make a new sig for the playoffs I wouldn;t plan the parade route just yet, you need to win quite a few more games first 1 win does not a series make and Buffalo is going to win the cup this season ... Did I miss anything? :violin: No, you pretty well got it bang on
Airborn 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Congrats on your win.....and thank McGoof for us How can Detroit be called hockey town. Not even sold out and I have been to Pee Wee games that have been louder. And what was up with Cleary running Kipper, that was a little cheap when your team was ahead 4-1 Dirty, DIrty, Cry me a river - I'm sure if it weren't for the refs, you would have killed us. I'm literally shaking for game 2. What's up with Iginla running Hasek? Maybe Cleary thought goaltenders were open game after watching Iginla play.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) Just got back from the game about a half hour ago! WOW! First off, let me just say..this attendence stuff is being overblown. Can we talk about the GAME? The atmostpher at the JLA tonight was freaking AMAZING! I lost my voice. It was SO loud, and crazy with no stop Lets Go Wings chants! My cousin and tried starting a Kippppperrrrr Kippperrrrr chant but it only worked for like .5 seconds. LOL You guys, the Wings were freaking DOMINANT as hell. They did not take any crap from the Flames at all! I knew we'd see a different, more physical Wings team this post season. I just knew it! Teams think they can walk all over us and well tonights game should just show em that we ain't taking s*** anymore, but instead will DISH it out! Franzen is phenemonal. That guy is a beast! Cleary had a fantastic game, the kids were amazing, Lilja was a wall back on the blue line, he was so great on the PK and taking plays away from the Flames. The Wings absoultey manhandled them in every category. This was a VERY convincing win. I have not felt this good about the Wings in quite a while. I know im always positive..but tonight I just saw something different and it was great!! BTW, the Wings OUT HIT the Flames by won. WOWZA. That is what I like to see!!!!! Let's do it again on Sunday!!!!!!! Flames are gonna come at us hard, but we gotta throw it right back and play our game!! BTW, the bird on the ice was too cute. Everytime it was around the Wings would score. Hahaha GO WINGS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited April 13, 2007 by HockeyCrazy3033
Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Dirty, DIrty Yeah, it was pretty unnecessary, especially considering how hard Jarome and Dion were campaigning for gentlemanly play.

datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 And what was up with Cleary running Kipper, that was a little cheap when your team was ahead 4-1 Dirty, DIrty, it's pretty evident that that wasn't intentional. kipper was way out of his crease and even stuck his leg out. cleary didn't see him til the last instant. Not even sold out and I have been to Pee Wee games that have been louder. And what was up with Cleary running Kipper, that was a little cheap when your team was ahead 4-1 Dirty, DIrty, I can guarantee that you will see a totally different Flames team on sunday, and then back to Calgary for 2 games, which the wings didn;t win one this season. The Flames will have Regehr back on sunday. Yes the Flames were totally outplayed in the first and second, but the Flames pretty well won the third period. They carry that emotion and momentum into the next game and hopfully it will be a lot better game for the Flames. I guess it was true, that the pressure was on the Wings more, after being knocked out of the playoffs the last 3 seasons. I am not happy with the play of my team tonight. But I know they can do better, and they will...so look for a much different Flames team on SUnday. anyway COngrats on the win Oh, did the Wings win the first game against the Oilers last season in the first round As much as I hate Mr. Magoo, he didn't decide the game, but nice try using that as an excuse. As for not selling out, it's been explained many times over already in this thread, so try reading some of those posts. And Cleary "running" Kiprusoff? Cleary bumped into him, but Kipper embellished it and made it look worse than it actually was...so don't even try saying it was a dirty play. Speaking of which, I'd be looking at your own team for cheap shots, especially when they knew they were going to lose the game, and led by Iginla no less. I knew there was a reason I hate the Flames. Real tough guy going after Datsyuk and Zetterberg. I hope he gets himself thrown out of the next game when he gives the ref an earful.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Congrats on your win.....and thank McGoof for us The calls were pretty even through 40, when the game was still competitive, 6-5 in favor of Detroit. Calgary got called a ton of times in third when the game was out of reach and it was time to goon it up. And what was up with Cleary running Kipper, that was a little cheap when your team was ahead 4-1 Dirty, DIrty That hit wouldn't have awoken him from an afternoon nap. His teammates reacted, as they should, but their reaction was way over the top. Oh, did the Wings win the first game against the Oilers last season in the first round Yes, 3-2 (2OT). Thank you, thats what I thought, And then they lost 4 in a row...right :!: and Yes it got a little emotional and maybe physical at the end. But I recall, Yelle and Nilson just walking away from the wing players at the end also.....thats good, I hope the Flames take that emotion and momentum into the next game. Sucks we have to wait 2 days now. (Stupid NHL Scheduling) you are going to see a much different Flames team on sunday....Maybe even DMac will dress...just for leadership.....hope so, he is a great leader. Get over it...your team was embarrassing tonight and lost badly. Suck it up and root for them in Game 2...and by the way, talk is cheap. The Flames have been running their mouths all week in the press, and got smacked in the mouth for it, REAL HARD. If they're smart, they'll actually show up next time - after all, it'll make beating them all the more satisfying.
jpfalcon09 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 My thoughts on the game tonight: - The Wings were definitely ready to play, this is certainly not the same team as last year. It was refreshing to see the Wings initiate contact rather than taking it. - Hudler and Flip have established themselves as the future of the team. Flip's dogged work on Conroy was something to behold, and Hudler wasn't shying away from contact and was good on the PP. - Any doubts about Hank and Dats were erased from my mind pretty quickly. Bertuzzi coming back is only going to add to the depth of this team. Lang played a solid game, as we expected come playoff time. Good on ya, Robert. - The first goal deflated the Flames and they never recovered. They seem to be very fragile on the road and basically never were able to get anything sustained going. - Jarome Iginla getting frustrated midway through the 3rd is not a good sign. Iginla is the leader of the team and needs to play with a cooler head and stay out of penalty trouble. If the Flames are going to be bothered by the Wings forechecking and hitting, the Flames need to change their game plan then. - Kipper kept it from being a 6 or 7-1 game. As mentioned earlier, the Flames really hung him out to dry in the 2nd. I expect Calgary to at least bring a better effort in Game 2, which I will be at. Vincanni 1 Report post Posted April 13, 2007 Wait, Cleary ran Kipper.... BWUAH HA HA HA HA HAHAHA Oh that's rich, that diver was out of the crease and barely got grazed, cry me a river. As for "Physical play?" Punching a player in the head or trying to start s*** with him after the whiste's blown is ussually considered dirty s***bag tactics if you ask me, but beleive whatever you want, please I find it amusing That is some captain the Flames have.
