GAME 1 (4/12): Red Wings 4, Flames 1

Thank you, thats what I thought, And then they lost 4 in a row...right :!:

No. And you'd be silly to try and draw a correlation anyhow. I could just as easily point out the Wings won their first playoff game in '98 and went on to win the Cup.

thats good, I hope the Flames take that emotion and momentum into the next game.

By all means, me too. They took a TON of penalties in the third with their child-like tantrums. The only reason the Wings didn't run up the score is because they honestly didn't care. They were content to skate out the rest of the game.

^---For those of you who missed this, here's a brief summary... :crybaby:

Get over it...your team was embarrassing tonight and lost badly. Suck it up and root for them in Game 2...and by the way, talk is cheap. The Flames have been running their mouths all week in the press, and got smacked in the mouth for it, REAL HARD. If they're smart, they'll actually show up next time - after all, it'll make beating them all the more satisfying.

Well said there

Did any body see the fight at the end of the game? Brad Stuart was violently shaking the ref. I think there should be supension, I mean come on Roenick got one for throwing a water bottle no shaking the ref.

Are the Flames fans really going to throw this empty seats bulls*** in our face? The economy is bad, and the ticket prices are outrageous. That being said, I was at the game tonight and there were very little empty seats. For one, in the beginning, it was empty because it was an early start. People started finally coming at 7:30. Second, fans started to leave with about 7 minutes left after the Wings had the game in the bag! Traffic is a ***** and thats why the arena cleared out. *I'm not one to ever do that* but everyone's different. The atmosphere was fantastic tonight, so don't even try to take that away from us because your damn Flames lost after playing a horrid, goonery game, so instead of just admitting it you bring up something so irrelevant to the actual game.

Who said anything about a parade? With the wings prior first round exits the fans are anything but planning a parade. :hehe:

You are great at putting words in our mouth. Did we say anything about the Cup? Are we not allowed to be overjoyed with such a convincing, dominating Wings victory?

If I were you I'd stop with the pointless posts. You're making all Flames fans look bad.

PS. Cleary didn't run Kipper. He bumped into him. There's a big difference.

Congrats on your win.....and thank McGoof for us

No problem. Thank your team for not showing up tonight for us.

How can Detroit be called hockey town. Not even sold out and I have been to Pee Wee games that have been louder

We were only 700 seasts below a sell out, and the Joe isnt mic'd to be loud. It's always quiet on tv, never in person.

And what was up with Cleary running Kipper, that was a little cheap when your team was ahead 4-1

Dirty, DIrty

Not intentional at all. And with the team that you support, youre actually calling dirty play on someone else? LOL

I can guarantee that you will see a totally different Flames team on sunday

You mean they will be awake? Good.

Oh, did the Wings win the first game against the Oilers last season in the first round

Barely. This year we really destroyed our opponent in game one though. :)

wow. I hope I can be as mellow and objective about my team when they don't show up to play. Jiggy 12, I'm probly gonna get banned for what I'm about to say....You are the shiznit!! lol.

Hey, thanks!

This team has lowered my expectations significantly. Its not the same type of that made Calgary fall in love with their Flames in 2004. That lunchbucket crew was just so gosh darn inspiring! Its easier now to look at this team objectively, instead of getting emotionally wrapped up in it.

This team just frustrates the hell out of me. I know we'll play better on Sunday, but it still might not be good enough to win. I'm not selling my playoff tickets just yet, but if we lose game 2 the way we lost game 1 send me a message if anyone is looking for game 3 and 4 tickets. J/K

I was so mad, in the 1st intermission I was opening a can of soup and broke the can opener clean in half...soup spilled all over my floor. The soup was red...Flames red...not a good sign of things to come.

We all know you're frustrated, but any ridiculous statements like that just make you look foolish. All of the knowledgeable fans on here know it's just one game, we recognize that, and it's nothing to get talk or a Cup, not by any means. We're just happy that all of the talk about the Wings being soft and not physical were quickly tossed out the window. This game was 100 times better for us than Game 1 last year, regardless if the Wings won on a lucky goal. The point is, the Wings played a great game and Calgary showed little effort after it was 2-0. Own up to it, admit defeat and move on to Game 2, I'm already there.

Is everyone in calgary this ignorant? Or childish?

I know youre having a hard time coming up with something good to say, but dont get too angry.

If you type too loud, mom will know youre out of bed.

you know, trying to bring wings past failures in the playoffs is KINDA like a double edged blade, cuz you know, the wings are by far the most successful teams in the playoffs since 1995 with you know, 100 wins, while calgary has done sweet f***all 1990-2003 and 2005 onwards :P

I appreciate your knowledge about the game tonight and in general, Jiggy. It was quite difficult to see the Flames just unwilling to get involved in anything, I was hoping for a closer game, hopefully Game 2 brings that to fruition. I love your passion and love the fact that you call a spade a spade, you represent the Flames organization and their fans very well, kudos!

I can't believe that I forgot to mention in my other post that for Hank being out for so long..damn did he look good!

he looked great! I read in another forum where some commentator was saying no one could be out as long as Hank was and come back and play that well, so he was faking and the Wings were embellishing the injury. I really wonder where these "experts" get off saying crap like that. Not that it doesn't happen ALL the time. It's just sad that some will believe it...
