DUDE shut up you obviously didn't watch Lang EVER. Maybe his line did something but he didn't do a dang thing but turn the puck over numerous times when Hasek was trying to empty the net

These losses go beyond the players and straight to babcock. He is being outcoached by a rookie. Babcock has shown no ability to adjust whatsoever. The powerplay and penatly kill are atrocious - then do something about it mike. Change the personel or change the style. I can't believe a coach can watch game film and not adjust. You're all talk mike. Get a set of balls and do something!!

I'm speechless really. I just don't know what to say. This team just finds a way to shoot themselves in the foot.. be it Hasek taking a very dumb penalty, or Babcock putting a junk player on the power play. I don't know.

Mike Babcock was brought in to change the style of play..make Detroit a tougher team to play against. Well, it's the same unsuccessful ***** hockey for the 5 years. Dave Lewis actully got us to the second round.

In all fairness to Babcock ******* up the roster, the lines, putting Lang on the ice, the rest of the team has to play better. Filppula and Franzen are playing great. Why don't the get rewarded and take away some time from our star player Robert Lang. How many times have we heard "The second line needs to get going" Well, it's not going..it hasn't gone. It never will go. So to get Lang going, Bertuzzi and Franzen are put on his line. Well, they score..Lang still plays s***ty.

Zetterberg, Lidstrom.. wow.. Great Leadership.

To answer you question, YES! Your right THE LINE THAT HE WAS ONE did supply our goals tonight, but you have to play for 60 minutes. Lang looked confused and udderly pathetic tonight.

Wasn't it the Anaheim series a few years back, that the Wings won the first two, and then dropped four straight? This sh%& is looking O so familiar - outshooting the other team by a ton - the opposing goalie (for the nth year in a row) standing on his head - everybody shaking their heads at how the Wings mysteriously and suddenly suck. Now do you understand why the Joe wasn't sold out for game 1?

excellent post. babcock didn't do his job tonight, which was COACHING THE DAMNED TEAM. like you said, if something doesn't work (the power play unit), then you ADJUST and change it so it does work. babcock didn't, so the power play continued to suck all night. really really poor on his part.

It may not be the best I've seen, but it has at least been bad both ways. You may not agree as to what is a penalty, but they make the same marginal calls on each team. The difference is that the Flames pp has been killer and the Wings pp has been inexplicably bad.

Kiprusoff won the game, Lang helped him though. Several good attempts by Datsyuk, however Zetterberg wasn't impressive. And of course hads down to Bertuzzi. Big hopes for home game.

Why not bench the entire team... They played even LESS of the 60mins than Lang... Don't by that s*** sorry!

Outclassed and outworked.

Pathetic effort by this team. Calgary wanted it more tonight, and the Wings looked like a joke especially on the PP and in the last minute. I'm embarrassed by what I saw tonight, thoroughly disgusted.

Thoughts:

- Franzen has had 2 good playoff years so far. He's impressive and comes hard to play every night.

- Flip's effort was unmatched tonight by anyone else on the Wings team. It's sad to see that happen, but it's a harsh reality.

- Bert had a good 1st but went invisible afterwards.

- Special teams sucks, so uncreative on the power play and too aggressive on the PK.

- Sammy or Lang need to sit, they were awful in their own end tonight, and frankly I'm sick of seeing both of them on the ice.

- Dom's been average the past 2 games, and he hasn't been much better than Manny was last year.

- No urgency, no effort, totally listless. I'm ashamed to be a Red Wings fan and having to watch this crap.

- Calgary's come to play now, and Saturday is the ultimate gut check time. If anyone on the team has any balls, someone needs to stand up in the locker room and say enough of this s***. Awful, absolutely brutal.

End of rant, I'm going to bed.

The refs were bad, but the Wings sucked. I could hardly watch because they played so bad. Something needs to be done, I am not sure what. Whether it be benching or screaming, I don't really care.

EXACTLY. regardless of who got the points, there wasn't one red wing that played good tonight.

WW, you are my hero! I just started a thread on Babs and you are right. We are seeing a coaching failure here. A smart coach would have come out from the get go with something for this game.

i dont understand why babs doesnt change up the PP its not working yet we still go out with the same ppl and the same style each time. He needs to switch it up, it is obviously not working.
