Offsides 21 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Offsides, you were right. I cheered for Lang and we won. Just thought I'd mention that. It's all scientific Honestly, people just get so angry about stuff, players. Release your anger, people...ha ha. Let loose, have fun! Believe me, I know! How can Bobby not amuse you, did you see him interviewed after the game...funny
Shockwave180 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Yes, Yes, Yes, Freaking Yes. After all the BS, snakebitten, hard-luck playoff OT losses we've lived through, I was pretty pessimistic there. Right up until Franzenstein unleashed that lazer. Stick it, Calgary. And go sucker-punch yourself, Langkow.
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 I think it was the initiative by some posters, I give credit to Dakine, to blindly cheer for Lang that won this game. Three years since we've felt this, and after the last game, it feels good. Jiggy, thanks for posting and being respectful as possible, stick around.

RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 The Red Wings deserved to win this game tonight. It's great to see us really grind out a playoff overtime victory. I'm not used to it, but I can certainly begin to enjoy this on a regular basis. Here's maybe the most important thing I took away from tonight's game: Johan Franzen has been our most underrated forward this season, and I would go as far as to say that he has been one of the top two or three most valuable players on this team all year. He's such an interesting player, because I can't really think of anybody else that plays exactly like him. He can hit and he can get physical, which is great, and then he turns around and fires an absolute rocket of a shot like he did tonight. He kills penalties, he makes smart plays with the puck and he has been consistent. Without Johan Franzen, I don't know that the Red Wings have the regular-season that they had. And, tonight, he is able to get some glory for advancing them to the second round.
dicksmack 33 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Thank-you Johan... I thought that rush looked promising--nice bank pass from Lidstrom and what a great shot, no big wind up to telegraph it either... Best team (by a red mile) won... They aren't even showing the highlights on "the Score" in Canada. hahahahah you know they can't take it!!! wimps

heretic69 10 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Does anyone else think that Lily really stepped up his game this series? Compared to past play I think he has really come up big. Much more than I expected of him, at the least. Gotta give props to Kipper. I don't think I really need to support that statement.

Much more than I expected of him, at the least. Yeah, Lilja was a beast out there. 8 hits in today's game alone. He was dare I say, really good this entire series. But what a turn around from most of the season. He looks like a completely different player.

He saved Hasek and the Wings a bunch of times, and he's all around stepped up. I heart Lilja.

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 (edited) I think his scuffles late in the regular season have played a role in Lilja's "transformation," if you want to call it that. The guy just needed some confidence, imo. Edited April 23, 2007 by Dabura
