A player should never say or do anything that would even remotely give the opposing team the idea that you are taking them lightly or over confident. It just motivates the team more. I am very confident about the wings this year. Guerin isnt right when he says its the same wings, they have always played the same way. This year we have a differnt style about us and I like it. The parts where I say that the Sharks are bigger, younger and faster? Or the parts where I say say they are a much bigger, tougher team than the Flames? Or the parts where I point out the regular season record between the two teams? Or the parts where I point out that Hasek is not the goalie he once was? Which part is untrue? Civil my ass civil. How do you figure that you guys are the best team in hockey and vastly better than the Wings? If that is the case, where is your conference title? Where is your President's Trophy? Where is your DIVISION title, you cannot even win your division and you want to come out and talk s***. Oh and I clearly just shut you down in regards to Darren Dreger. I wish he and guerin would keep those comments to themselves and maybe say something nice about the red wings, even if they didnt mean it. Hell, lie if you have to. The way I see it all it does is motivate the other team, I'm sure they're (wings) motivated enough, why feed the flame when only nice things are coming from their (wings) side of the tracks?
