Tue, May 15 – at Anaheim, 9:00 pm EDT (VS., TSN) 4. Thu, May 17 – at Anaheim, 9:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 5.* Sun, May 20 – at Detroit, 3:00 pm EDT (NBC, TSN) 6.* Tue, May 22 – at Anaheim, 9:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 7.* Thu, May 24 – at Detroit, 7:30 pm EDT (VS., TSN) and this: 1. Thu, May 10 – at Buffalo, 7:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 2. Sat, May 12 – at Buffalo, 8:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 3. Mon, May 14 – at Ottawa, 7:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 4. Wed, May 16 – at Ottawa, 7:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 5.* Sat, May 19 – at Buffalo, 2:00 pm EDT (NBC, CBC) 6.* Mon, May 21 – at Ottawa, 7:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) 7.* Wed, May 23 – at Buffalo, 7:00 pm EDT (VS., CBC) Thats right - I can watch EVERY Sabres/Sens game on basic cable (CBC) - no additional $$. But to watch Game 1, Game 3 or Game 7 of the Redwings series - I have to slum it. NHL - you're not making any sense. Versus - you just plain suck.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Yeah, I saw that, it's bulls***. I'd like to apologize to the folks I assured a month ago that all of the games from the conference finals on out would be on CBC; I was unable to foresee the NHL's ******* treachery against its own fanbase, and certainly not in this manner. Sorry, guys. As always: I'd hate hockey if I didn't love it.
Mason 38 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 That's some bulls***, but you could still watch the games online. Try Sopcast for one. I hope that helps. You probably already know about it, though.
C-TownWing 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 I am sooo excited. I'm moving, finally got out of the grasp of Time-Warner, and my new provider actually carries Versus. Cable guy came by yesterday afternoon, and I actually made a special trip there with a little TV to watch the game last night in a mostly empty apartment. Not to gloat, but I can't say that I care about CBC vs. TSN now. Actually, I don't get CBC anyway, and I still won't at the new place even with the pretty decent package I got just for Versus. Either way, this TV package is still crap. This is the conference finals and a combined TWO games are on a channel that mainstream America actually gets. Wings3:16 318 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 (edited) Considering its hockey night in CANADA, i'd give them a break (cbc i mean) Edited May 9, 2007 by Wings3:
Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 Living in Canada I find all these posts about people not getting the game so puzzling. Hockey is on NONSTOP up here. I never even have to worry about missing a game. Lucky....
alienanxiety 23 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 i think this is the first year that i can recall where every game in the conference finals wasn't shown on CBC.
cadmonkey 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 (edited) I understand it's Hockey Night in Canada, but c'mon - Versus could've exercised exclusivity on their games too - Why only on the Wings series? I'll admit the lockout year left a bad taste in my mouth and I LOVE the game. How are you going to win back the casual fans when they can't see it? This is spotlight time guys - put on the prom dress and show off! Get the best commentators, put on the best intermission shows, show some of the pregame fanfare - show the world what they have ignored - don't sock it away on a mediocre exclusive sports channel. Hell, our local paper (The Toledo Blade - One America's Great Newspapers suffering severe financial and labor difficulties) even calls it MUST SEE TV - obviously an NBC plug, but um, only one game in our series will be on NBC. I hope I'm not the only one going to the NHL feedback page... And to the Sopcast question - aside from your search http://myp2p.eu/NHL.htm has all the feeds for each day. You'll need to download the appropriate player. Someone also has ahd streams up on TVU when Sopcast wasn't working last week. I don't consider online streaming a real solution though - it should be on TV. Edited May 9, 2007 by cadmonkey
