commadore183 103 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Eddie: "The Ducks' PK is a machine at home. Perfect." *Homer scores* Such great timing on Eddie's part!!
redwingsgirl 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 You know, I find it hilarious that the same amount of gushing for the Wings doesn't happen as it does when the Ducks do something on VS. Ya think!?!?!? "There haven't been many short-handed goals in the playoff this year" HELLO!!!!! We've had FOUR!!! Count em up - four! and many more opportunities!
Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 It seems we have found Anaheim's achilles' heel Both of our even strength goals (in game 3 as of yet) have been produced when the center drives to the net to distract the off defensman. The winger with the puck passes across ice (not to the center) to the unnoticed winger on the far side. Not to take away from Anaheim's defense at all, because technically its the forward's job to take the third man, but it may be the key to winning the series, (or at least enough games to clinch the series before they catch on )
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Absolutely DOMINATING period by the Wings. This was probably one of their best periods so far in the playoffs thus far. Wow the goals by Mule and Homer were a thing of BEAUTY!! LOVE IT. Dom has been excellent, too! And I love how agressive the Wings are on their forecheck, and just all around physical prescence. Keep it up fellas! 40 more minutes. Keep taking it to 'em!

Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 One of them mentioned how Detroit hasn't scored 5 on 5 too "You know, Anaheim hasn't been blown out in their own building in these playoffs either." Come on, Eddie. You know you want to.
Guest jaytan Report post Posted May 16, 2007 6 o clock is killer game time for Anaheim... but now the fans are arriving and our team is playing like poo..... Yeah, what's with that? Are they just trying to accomodate for the viewers back East, to help out those ratings? I know it must have been tough for some of you guys to get to the arena on time on a weekday, especially the way the traffic can get. I wish they'd be just as fair and play the games in Detroit at 8:30 EST or something.
SliderJeff 11 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Was I the only one looking at that "34 for 34" stat on the penalties and envisioning seeing it as "34 for 35... streak ended"? HA FUGGIN HA! I LOVE IT! Keep it coming strong, boys. Man, tough first game back for Kopecky. I can't forgive him for that first penalty, but that second one was just real bad luck. That being said, these penalties were there before he went down with the CB injury... so it's not like it's something new. He just needs to settle down and play his game the way the rest of the boys are. Dom has looked real good so far and the rest of the team is just a machine. Still need to tighten it up a little in the defensive zone and we need some more shots on Jiggly-Puff. All in all, I'm happy, but there's room for improvement. LET'S PUNISH THEM! GO WINGS GO! Later, Jeff
isbister 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I hate Versus!!! Whats sad is I have to watch The Pistons get raped just cause I don't want to hear about how The ducks should be winning this game. Why won't them idiots just admit that The Wings are good?
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 They are only down 2-0... Why are the fans so quiet.... They should be cheering non-stop, regardless of the score... They sure don't follow what they preach.
Creasemonkey 30 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Olczyk and Engblom need some breath mints, they've had an awful lot of duck meat in their mouths in this series.
Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 I'm impressed. TSN actually talked about how Detroit was playing so much better, rather than spending the whole time drooling over the Ducks.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 ...I think it's safe to say that Detroit was "ready" for the start of tonight's Game 3. Thanks for the concern, Chris. Matt, I bow in awe of your majestic avatar.

Seeing Aaron Ward in the studio is actually a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of these nimrods. (Yeah, yeah, I know he was an ass to our guys in the '02 Finals, but he's still a former Wing to me...)

I know it must have been tough for some of you guys to get to the arena on time on a weekday, especially the way the traffic can get. I wish they'd be just as fair and play the games in Detroit at 8:30 EST or something. yea its pretty bad. Our arena looks empty at the start od games in playoffs because of start time and its embarassing. But ducks are playing terrible right now and no excuse for it
