Is it time for one of these threads already?

Matt should install a counter on the top of this page that reads:

"It has been __ days since we've had a Fedorov thread."

Yup - put a hold on this until about mid-July....and if one gets started, it needs something more substantial than "I miss you". ;)

All I know is, if we could get him for around 1.5 mill a year. I am all in favor of it. And Im not trying to hold on to the past or anything. Im just thinking logically. He's still fast as hell, he still has a lazor shot. And he's still great at winning draws. For the right contract, he would be a great pick-up. The thing is though, its not gonna happen. Im sure Feds will demand more $$ per year. But if for once he didn't think about the money, im all in favor of it.

I have 40 million reasons why I don't miss him.

I don't think we win one stanley cup if it wasn't for Fedorov.

You're right. But what the hell does that have to do with the present?! You gonna use a time machine on him or something?

Typical case of someone wanting a player back because of nostalgia.

Or Yzerman, or Lidstrom, or others.

It's a team sport, which is why I'm pissed he packed his s*** up and went to Anaheim. He wanted out of Detroit so badly (bad enough to take a 5 year, 40 million dollar deal, and reject a Wings 5 year, 50 million dollar offer) why would he come back anyways? Additionally, for the slap in the face, why would we want him back? Of course I'm bitter. Just as bitter as Jerry Rice leaving the 49ers for a few hundred thousand more on his yearly salary. Fedorov was a franchise player, fans latched onto that, and he showed no team loyalty. I don't have a Fedorov voodoo doll, nor do I spend much time thinking about him, but when the Wings play his team, I enjoy hearing him get booed. Hell, any time the JLA shows any liveliness, I enjoy it.

You can't compare Kozlov to Fedorov. Let's be realistic here.

Im not comparing their skill. Im just comparing the fact that around the league they are both called "soft Russians". Feds has tons of skill, but to say he plays a physical game is far far off.

I'm not sure if Fedorov is known to be as soft as Kozlov. I wouldn't even say Fedorov is soft, he can take punishment, he just doesn't dish it out.

Thats true actually, he does seam to be able to take alot of punishment. Thats actually another thing I really like about Feds, he rarely gets any bad injuries.

Rather, he's strong on the puck (his typical outside-in move for instance) instead of the body.

Fedorov is very capable of still being the awesome two way player that he once was back with the Wings. In fact..he's coming around again from some of the games I've seen from this season. Bringing him back would be gold, and the lines would be phenomenal..AND we'd have someone that can actually play the point besides Schneids! Not saying Feds is the same he was years back, but he's still good enough to make a difference.

You know what thread is soon to come next Harold? One asking about Jiri Fischer's status for next season.

HE WONT BE BACK NEXT SEASON (in case i just peaked someone's interest!)

One big problem...Feds doesn't like "Babcook" as he called him and "Babcook" doesn't like Feds.
