RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 Cheli is the man! Here's to a great season at 45-46. He must have some Gordie Howe in him! I'm tempted to say this will be his last year for sure - but I said that about 5 years ago - lol - so I'll just keep quiet and enjoy.
Salviaman 104 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 He deserves to play every year till he dies... J/K but he can probably play till he is 50. Without a doubt he will remain a force and presence on our D. Here is to another great season out of the oldest current player in the NHL!

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 I am pleased and not surprised to see Cheli back. We need him on the ice, setting the tone. You can't really buy that veteran presence or devotion to the game and the Wings. Great deal! Can't wait to see #24 back on the ice in the Fall.
Icer 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 Didn't Chelios play hockey with Moses early in his career? No, but here's a couple of his teammates from the 83-84 Canadiens: Guy Lafleur Larry Robinson Bob Gainey Claude Lemieux The first three retired more than 15 years ago. Lemieux was a rookie and he's been retired for almost 5 years.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 Chelios is a good deal for the Wings, because I'm pretty sure Medicaid picks up his medical bills.
drwscc 212 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 Didn't Chelios play hockey with Moses early in his career? Cheli has an official Jesus signed Red Wings Jersey. Funny that Jesus wore #19.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Didn't Chelios play hockey with Moses early in his career? Actually, it was supposed to have been Moses' rookie year, but he got lost on the way to training camp, and by the time he showed up 40 years later, Cheli had been traded. Too bad, that. Seriously, great to have Cheli and Dom back- they make me feel young watching them.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Didn't Chelios play hockey with Moses early in his career? Man, he has been around a LONG time. Nice to have him back though. He did. And he knocked out two of Moses' teeth in training camp with a crosscheck to the face. Cheli doesn't take any sh*t from anybody.
