Who is next to sign with Detroit?

Roenick would be nice. Let's face it, we've never gotten anyone in the past few years who played like a superstar. The roster is generally very balanced. So a 29 point season for cheap would still be good. We need to fill some gaps, and getting someone like Roenick instead of some untested player at least means we could get lucky and have a year where he gets his groove back.

I was on the Roenick band wagon a few years ago, and I'm officially on it again.

Oh, and why would Raycroft come to Detroit? Did I miss something with Hasek? He's still ccoming back, isn't he? And Osgood is still our backup. So why would we need Raycroft?

Aye! welcome t' th' ship Lad/lasse!

Just some Eklund bologna. The OP asked "any rumors?" and I had read that one on his site. It's since been taken down for obvious reasons.

Kozzie, don't know about getting #13 back although you never know, but the Wings have recently had some other numbers open up....

Eklund's got a Raycroft to Detroit rumor. Screw that, put Ozzie in net and let howard back him up. Both better than raycroft.

I'm really hoping for Kozlov, I think he would be a perfect fit. Datsyuk retains #13 [or at least I hope, I think he should], Slava can take #17, or #31... Hopefully Kenny's move comes soon, people are getting restless, myself included

I'm hoping for anybody at all. Even if it's someone we could use as trade bait.

Probably #23 or #14 if that were the case. :P

So, no one is coming to Wings at the moment. Holland wants the market cooling down.

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/

Red Wings general Manager Ken Holland says that, Bertuzzi's defection to Anaheim included, he's ready to sit back and enjoy the show as the remaining unrestricted free agents are plucked off the market:

With Bertuzzi gone, the Wings' immediate priority is to get Dominik Hasek re-signed; the sides are close and the deal should close this week.

As for finding a top-six forward to take Bertuzzi's place, the Wings want to let the 2-day-old free agency market cool off and then see what can be had at a reasonable price for one year or at the most, two.

"We'll take our time now, wait awhile this summer," Holland said. "I think we've got a good team. We'll survey the land."

: "Another (defenceman) isn't our priority," Holland said. "We're not looking for anybody significant. If we're going to do something on D, maybe it's a month from now." ... "We've spent $40 million without Hasek and Hudler," Holland said.

As of Monday night, Slava Kozlov and his agent were still talking to the Atlanta Thrashers on Monday night. It sounds like the only thing that could convince Kozlov from Atlanta is something the Detroit Red Wings can't offer him--a salary of over $4 million a year.

I think Jeff O'Neill would be reasonable pick for 2 million. Hopefully Babcock likes him.

If I had to lay odds on who the Wings will sign next...I would make Forsberg the favorite. I wish someone would hurry up and sign him and Kozlov so i dont have to worry about it anymore!

I'm actually starting to think that Roenick wouldn't be that bad to have in the Wings team , plus he could probably be had on the cheap and would mean we could probable still sign someone else .

Cap'n , I's be officially on th' lets get Roenick bandwagon......aye!!!!!! :D

Roenick likes Detroit. We could get him for real cheap and can play on 3 or 4th line. He plays with some grit has a loud mouth which I love. Get er done Kenny!

I find it funny people want Kozlov. Hes small , and hasent scored a playoff point since 00-01. Add in he wants 4 million and he is NOT what we need

I find it funny some people will judge a hockey players talent based on which country they are born in. Wings need point producing forwards more than some lumbering oaf who can barely skate, but is picked up simply cause he's from Moosejaw.

Not Really. I was just poking some fun at Kenny :P

All I want really is some gritty guys anyways , May/Fedoruk/Asham and I'll be satisfied

May just re-signed with Anaheim

That's not what you implied initially.

I would love Asham on this team. Damn it Kenny! Sign him now! :P
