Obviosly not all of these players will have there rights let go by their teams , but some will. Some guys I wouldnt mind on the wings, Ryder, Hunter, Avery, Kelly. Defenceman , Exelby, Montador , Foster.

The price ranges wouldnt be too bad for some of these guys , we definately have room for 1 or 2 of them. Plus there better then whats left on the FA market.

Edit: Theres a couple of guys on the list who have already been re-signed (Gratton, Armstron,Ribeiro etc.)

I would absolutely love to have either Cammalleri(Michigan boy), Derek Roy, Ryder, Hunter or Sean Avery(especially Avery) in a Wings uniform for offense. And for defense, I would love to have either, Exelby, or Foster(maybe Schultz as well). So at this point, Im just crossing my fingers for any of the players I just mentioned. But If I really had to pick one forward and one defenseman out of that grouping, it would be, Avery and Exelby. I dont necassarily think its gonna happen. But man that would be fantastic! They would be perfect additions.

He's talking about the fact that Mike was born and raised in Canada and has played multiple times for Team Canada.

And DetroitIan was talking about the fact that he played for Michigan. <_<

Avery! Avery! Avery!

I think it would be a disgrace to see Sean in Wings uniform again, plus he wouldn't fit with our team. Simply put: he is too much of a penalty liability.

Thats such a tired argument. Avery trimmed his PIMs down by over 80 minutes this season, he's become more disciplined plus he draws alot of penalties. Not to mention, the most penalized team in the league just won the Cup, you dont need a team full of Byngers to win.

Keep things in perspective. There was a time not too long ago where 174 penalty minutes over a full season was looked at as not being all that high anyway.

I think the Wings could use some of Avery's unpredictability. Plus, there's no denying that he messes with peoples' minds when he's on the ice. (I say that in a good way).

I mostly agree Lou, but too many of Avery's penalty minutes were of the extremely stupid variety. That's different than getting them from dropping the gloves and the occasional 10 minute misconduct. :D

Avery does seem to have gotten his act together a bit. I'd still be nervous about having him on the Wings, but he's always had a lot of great qualities as a player. Unfortunately they just came along with all his other crap.

I guess it depends on your taste. Ive always found Avery's antics to be pretty humorous and entertaining, so I dont mind his attitude at all! As for the penalties, I guess I just still have an old school mindset where an aggressive guy averaging around 2 minutes a game really isnt anything. Even if he's not fighting a ton, guys like Chelios used to be at 200 and rarely fight. Factoring in that Avery is a potential 20+ goal guy makes it just fine imo. But, I dont think theres any way the Wings would sign him anyway. He'd be over their 100 PIM limit mark.

Exelby, Avery, and Ryder are on my want list.

That would be the ideal trio for sure.

Yes, definitly.

The only one of those three that I think we even have a chance of getting though, is Ryder. I've heard that he and Bob Gainey don't get along, so Montreal may want to cut him lose. Hollands so apt of finding a top 6 forward: well, there's you're top 6 forward right there.

I also definitly agree about Avery. I would love to have him back, but God forbid Holland signs a player that has over 100 PIM. Our highest PIM last year was 66, shared by both Lang and Schneider. None of those 66 came in fights either, so it doesn't count.

If Holland really wanted to impress me, he'd go after one of these guys. I'm tired of hearing the trade dealine speech all the time. That's too far off, and this team really needs help on the 2nd line.

I'd take Exelby any day of the week. Carelessly nailing guys like Mats Sundin, hell yes!

First choice for me is Avery. Pretty much any of those forwards really, except Hunter and Craig.

And of course this too

If Markov goes elsewhere he could be a great pick up, and if you ask me Avery could just be that top 6 forward we badly need.
