Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted September 5, 2007 (edited) Pretty similar IMO.. Nothing changed much. On the side - I am starting to dislike this 'template' many teams are using for the jerseys. The Pens is very similar to Tampa's new one and same with the Sens new sweaters....it makes every jersey less unique if there are four or 5 jerseys with the same template, just different colours. Kind of like when all the national soccer teams started wearing Nike, Adidas, or Umbro Jerseys at the WC or EC that were all exactly the same except for the colours. It just seems to make them all a little less special. Edit - More Pics Edited September 5, 2007 by Yzerfan1999

Packer487 3 Report post Posted September 5, 2007 Has the penguin on skates always been that big? It looks HUGE on those jerseys. I still love their color scheme...but I liked the old jerseys better. I think the ones without a stripe across the bottom just look goofy.

I agree. I think these new form fitting jerseys all suck!! I still don't understand what's was wrong with the old ones. Whats the 250 for? Is the city 250 years old? BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 I also would like to know what the 250 is for? Maybe it's the average winning percentage the Pens put up since 2000?

BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 Maybe the city was founded 250 years ago? That'd be about right for a city out East, wouldn't it? While the founding date is likely around the year 1750, which would be about 250 years, could the 250 represent the total goals scored by Penguins not named Mario or Sidney? That'd be about right for a city out East, wouldn't it? yeah.. that was my first guess too..so i checked it out on wikipedia before i asked, and i think they are only 249...according to my math..but that could be wrong. It says Pittsburgh was founded November 25, 1758. So...wouldnt that mean Pittsburgh turns 250 NEXT november?? Or am I a complete idiot. either way...close enough? wingsgirl001 983 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 Pretty standard. Not much changed from the original design. I like 'em.
Rob the Badger 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 I know it is just a logo... but I've never liked the skating penguin logo because penguins don't have legs. Their feet attach directly to their torso... they waddle, not skate and the 'legged' penguin freaks me out a bit. I liked the old penguin profile logo, or just the plain black and yellow "PITTSBURGH" college style jersey. THat's just me, I'm one guy with one guy's opinion. GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted September 6, 2007 The logo is still not as big as Malkin's head. In all seriousness, though, why'd they git rid of the yellow and replace it with a beige color. I'm frustrated about how teams always look for some new jersey designs, when they only have to look to the past to find better jerseys that they once wore. I agree as well. The older jerseys that can be pulled over someones head are the best. I couldn't imagine playing hockey in something as restricting as that.. It also just looks flat out stupid. This isn't roller hockey. Nashville-like jerseys are the anti-thesis of a good hockey jersey. The logo is still not as big as Malkin's head. In all seriousness, though, why'd they git rid of the yellow and replace it with a beige color. I'm frustrated about how teams always look for some new jersey designs, when they only have to look to the past to find better jerseys that they once wore. I agree with you as well. I think the old-time jerseys look the best. I kind of like how Vancouver is using their old design and came up with a newer jersey with the older design with the old "C" on it. Other teams need to take a look at this and learn from it as well as respect their heritage.

While I don't mind the legged Pens, I did really enjoy the PITTSBURGH written diagonally down the jersey...they should have made the black one like that.
