OsGOD 3 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 ^^ RCS does a very good job. My friend sent in a jersey to get lettered and they did a helluva job. Problem is being in the states and the company in canada it took almost 6 weeks to get the thing back. I myself think that is WAY to long to wait for a jersey. Too many other quicker options. But if you in Canada... try them out they do great work.
Tane 17 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Bought my 155$ Zetterberg Jersey at the game last night. Must say I'm pretty happy with what I got. Remembering this thread, I did indeed pay attention to all the numbers. I noticed the size of the numbers on the players on the ice. the Number takes up pretty much the entire back. These Jerseys, it looks like the number's about 5 inches shorter than the real numbers. I looked at the 330$ jerseys and they had the actual sized numbers. I'm wondering if maybe they ran out of the right size??? Anyway, I looked aroung the areana, and saw many people with these smaller numbers, so I did not feel that they were fake. You know that feeling you get when your jersey is made by pro player instead of CCM or if you bought a jersey for 5$ cause the name was spelled wrong, or if you're wearing a Hatcher jersey. I still felt that my new RBK jersey was superior to a CCM Jersey with the correct sized Numbering. It would have been nice to get the real size, but I'm still happy. Especially since over here in windsor, the blank jerseys are going for about 130$, and with the lettering they're around 200. And since I paid 155$ American, (no tax) after Conversion, that's like only 10$ Canadian
Ozzie30 170 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 I'm bringing this topic back to front because I now have a beef with hockeytown. Last season I bought a Zetterberg #40 hat from the hockeytown inside the Joe. It has the #40 stitched on the front, a small patch with z's autograph on the side, and zetterberg's name on the adjustable strap on the back. On a recent trip to the Joe I bought what I thought was a matching hat, for the same price, from the hockeytown at the joe for my girlfriend. I just noticed this weekend as my two nephews were playing with them the crap they sold me. The new hat is of inferior quality compared to the original, but the thing that really takes the cake (and I'll add a pic ASAP) is the name on the back strap: ZETTERBURG I didn't think I needed to insepct the thing because: 1. Where I was buying it from 2. The official NHL halogram sticker. Someone dropped the ball.
Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 Your beef should be with the manufacturer of the hat, not Hockeytown Authentics. HA had nothing to do with the misspelling of Z's name on the hat or the quality of it. If it bugs you that much, take it back and point out the hat's faults when you do. Demand your money back or at the very least, a store credit (I don't know HA's return policy).

I, and I'm sure most reasonable people, assume NHL logo = Endorsed by the NHL = High level of standard (or at least a name we can trust). I also assume if you're in a store that calls itsself hockeytown AUTHENTICS, you would get authentic NHL products, not cheap imitation crapola.
34Legace34 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 i cringe when i see the small/different lettering. There was a Manny Jersey on sale for 50 bucks when i was at the Joe last year, and i didnt buy it for that reason. buy your blank, and get a local retailer to do it for you. also, correct me if im wrong, but it looked like a few people were misspelling the company...i believe it is called STAHLS. (www.stahls.com) they also have the license to the MLB as well. now i might as well throw out a request of my own while were on this topic...lol. im looking for a white nike in size L or XL...i think they stopped making them around 01...from there they switched to ccm, koho, rbk, etc. i have my vladdy and 98 cup patches ready to go...and yea i have been checking ebay frequently! 34Legace34 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 RIGHT: -taller numbers -letters are sewn on...and VERTICALLY ARCHED WRONG -skinnier, smaller numbers -letters are arched, but not cut the same way. (think about trying to fit Konstantinov across the back with that style...it would go halfway down the jersey)

I do feel bad for you but i do have to say that it's pretty f---ing funny that they woudl even try and get away with somthing like that. I would for sure contact them about that one and complain about it. I have to think that you are not the only person that got one of those hats and everyone that has one should complain in the hopes that they really try and make it up to you and not just get you a new hat. I would demand somthing more then just a new hat. My guess would be that they send you a hat that has 40 on the front and then Drake on the back.

I'll chip in an RCS endorsement...I used all my HS graduation money to buy an authentic Yzerman in 1998, complete with the Stanley Cup and VK/SM patches. Even after 10 years of regular wear, still looks great, no defects in workmanship or anything like that. And of course, they used the correct lettering/numbering. Crap like that bothers me too

They didn't make the hat, they're not the ones who screwed it up. All the NHL hologram means is that it's licensed by the NHL, meaning that whoever made it has the rights to use NHL logos. It's not some kind of seal of approval. I'd just take it back and demand your money back. Your real beef should be with the sweatshop worker in whatever country who can't sew a hat right. I guess they're not responsible for the initial mistake in spelling, however, someone dropped the ball when they received the shipment of Zetterburg crapola. Well, unless Hockeytown Authentics made the hat, it is not their fault. The fault lies with the manufacturer who made the hat with the misspelling. The only thing the holographic sticker indicates is that the manufacturer of the hat is licensed to use the Red Wings logo, the NHL logo and the player's name. Even with the misspelling, that hat is an authentic NHL product as long as it has that holographic sticker on it. If HA is at fault here for anything, it is for allowing the hat to be sold to the public. Someone should have caught the wrong spelling of Zetterberg's name before they sold those hats, alerted the manufacturer to the problem and shipped them back for replacements. Take it back to HA and get your money back.
