Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted October 5, 2007 All this talk of fights and cheapshots made me want to go down memory lane... Who remembers this: This is one of my personal favs: another good one is a few years back when DMac's jersey came off and he started giving Bryce Salvadore an absolute pasting job. can't seem to get a clip on that one though
union drone 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Nice one, GST! Here's another classic game. I remember that this game had at least three instances where everyone paired up and fought! The game lasted 4+ hours and at times it was standing room only in the penalty box. Wings vs Blues 1 of my favs is when Probert gets revenge on Domi; as the fight ends the camera pans over to the Wings bench, & there's meek mannered C Stevie Yzerman goin' nucking futs (along with the rest of the players) with the gesturing of the title belt across his waist as a disheveled Domi skates by Is this the one? Probert vs Domi Rematch
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Nothing beats those brawls in the 70's and 80's though. I'd love to have been around back then to watch some of the scrums that broke out.

Man how many 3rd man in were there against Probert? Every time he squares up, another Blues player jumps him. EDIT: At the end of that clip, they show what started it. Look at how many times Probert goes hard to the net. He used to create so much room in front. Edited October 5, 2007 by haroldsnepsts
union drone 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Yup - that's the 1 Too bad they didn't show Stevie goin' nutz Too bad for Probert (concerning his personal life off ice); he kinda came across as a quiet kinda guy while Domi always was a horses a$$. Here it is with Yzerman. The video quality isn't so good though.
StaticWithABeat 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Too bad Probert wasn't born 20 years later...if he played in today's NHL he'd probably have to hire a team of servants to help carry around his collection of skulls from his vanquished enemies...not unlike the Predator. johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 (edited) All this talk of fights and cheapshots made me want to go down memory lane... Who remembers this: Funniest part about that one was the homer announcers! After Probert whips on Quintal they say "What a great night for Quintal", like he did anything except act like a punching bag. And what's with Lazarro laying on the ice for 10 minutes? This is one of my favorite Probie fights. Micky R makes it even better. Edited October 5, 2007 by johnnyoski
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 I still think that Probie's 1st fight with Craig Coxe is the best hockey fight that I've ever seen. Also, who can forget his fight with Scott Parker when Probert was with Chicago. Absolutely classic.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted October 5, 2007 Its probably on you tube but when Probert fought Mcsourley at the joe, the fight lasted allmost 2 minutes after it was over and the refs had em tied up, it looked like Probert patted Mcsourley on the head kinda like a good fight jesture. Colorado vs Detroit 3/26/97 I love that video so much, it's taken a permanent residence in my myspace profile I really wish I'd have been exposed to NHL-level hockey when I was younger.. it's a shame I didn't start really getting into the 'scene' until the mid-90s. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Back in the 90's, you didnt miss the the Wings or Probert would break your face. Man, that Blues brawl and Bruins brawl were deadly. I always like the 03 Blues brawl, I'll try to find a vid.
Doctor G 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) Is the first one with Coxe wearing the home yellow jersey? They had two awesome scraps. Right you are, those 2 fights are not for the weak of heart. Also the night in St. Louis when Probert fought Todd Ewen 3 times. Those were classics. There was an all out brawl with the Maple Leafs in the 80"s, back when Probert and Kocur first join the team. Brad Park was coaching the Wings and Probert headbutted Bob McGill. I didn't see the game only heard stories of it. I have been trying to find that clip, but nobody has it. I thought it would be on youtube, but no luck.
