Hasek may miss Wednesday's game

Doesn't sound too bad, and I really hope it doesn't become worse. Still I'd rather see Ozzie tomorrow night, because of Hasek's 2.21 GAA and .887 save percentatge. It's only been three games, but those stats seem substandard for Hasek.

Especially since he's only faced 62 shots ( total for 3 games), makes me alittle worried if they come across a team that peppers them.

GAA doesn't worry me but SV% does. I for one think that Osgood should be carrying about half of the workload anyway. Hasek is still a fine goalie who can Dominate the opposition, but he is above 40 and he has suffered from extended injuries before. I have enough confidence in Osgood that I wouldn't be troubled if Hasek were out for a week or two. Still, I do hope Dom gets well fast.

Oh man, that could mean Oscrap starts on Friday... the Hawks could chase him into the first!

See: 1998 Stanley Cup.

Osgood may not have carried us singlehandedly to a Cup, but he won one as the starter. So did Khabibulin, of course - with Tampa. Is Chicago going to reward the Bulin Wall similarly? ;)

The majority of the goals against us lately have come as a result of defensive breakdowns.

And I'm pretty sure Hasek would love more shots.

lol. they really don't......

Mitchell and Ohlund are both great defencemen, and they've got a pretty good supporting cast too.

Ohlund, Mitchell, Bieksa, Salo, Miller, Kraicjek. Tell me, how is that not a good defence? Espicially with Loungo behind them. Ohlund and Bieksa are 2 great defenceman, Mitchell is one of the best shut down defenceman, Salo is great 2-way d-man, and Miller is a good veteran defenceman. Im not a huge fan of Kraicjek, but he's a good up and coming fella.

I like Bieksa he's solid, and he plays with great intensity.. Salo when healthy is good, and his slap shot is wicked.. But lets not forget Kraicjek was a throw in the Lou deal

Oh really now? If I were you I'd know what I was talking about before coming on here and posting, seeing as how Ozzie has a very good record against your precious Hawks.

Hasek's knee sore, Osgood might start

by Ansar Khan

Tuesday October 09, 2007, 2:56 PM

Update from practice Tuesday: Goaltender Dominik Hasek practiced but said he doesn't know if he'll play Wednesday against Calgary because of a bruise above his right kneecap. He was hit by a shot late in the third period of Monday's game and he said it was still sore. Chris Osgood might get his first start of the season Wednesday. Mike Babcock said there were no other injuries that he's aware of. Babcock said he hadn't decided what line combinations he'll use and whether he'll keep Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk on the same line.

Being a goaltender myself I understand what he is going through. Sometimes a weird shot out of nowhere finds itself hitting you in just the right place to miss the padding or hit little padding. I've been hit a few times right around the knee and above on the lower thigh, it doesen't hurt real bad when it happens and doesen't usually bother you until after your done skating and your muscles cool down. It should take a good 2 weeks or so to be back to normal. but most skate way before that time, but if you get hit in the same spot a second time before its healed, that is truly painful.

Osgood needs to get a few early games in also and Dom needed a break anyways. I say they should play Osgood tonight, then Dom on Friday.

Osgood to start vs. Flames

Chris Osgood will get the start tonight for the Red Wings in net against the Calgary Flames. Dominik Hasek continues to be bothered by a sore right knee after being hit right above the kneecap in Monday’s game against Edmonton. ¬He (Hasek) felt okay yesterday but he didn’t feel right, and there’s no sense fooling around, coach Mike Babcock said. Babcock was quick to point out this isn’t anything that will keep Hasek out of the lineup for long. He has a bruise, it’s not like he has an injury, said Babcock, who added Hasek will back up Osgood against the Flames. Babcock won’t be tempted to bring Hasek off the bench if something were to go wrong. I didn’t bring him off the bench that many times last year when he was backing up, did I Babcock said. I’m comfortable (with Hasek in reserve).

1. Nothing could ever be as clever as OsGOD :hehe:

2. I wouldn't say Ruutu owned Frazen. Think of it more as a wings sandwich gone bad.

all you need is a team who knows how to force shooters to shoot low... cause thats the domain of the snow angle of death!

GO OZZIE!

:hehe: I always get nervous, end up laughing a bit when the Flop-Inator comes out. Did save us in the shootout vs. the Ducks though...

Couldn't help remembering the several times last playoffs though... he was down/out, and the Ducks merely chipped it over him. Oh well, that was without Kronwall/Schneider helping clear rebounds away. Different story this year I believe. :sly:

Its nice to be able to have Ozzie on the team, He was born to be a wing. and yes I've been down on him at times as many of us fellow Wings fans have, I remember the good times of him holding the cup high, and smiling in the locker room why Ray Lane interviewed him. Ozzie is a son of Detroit and the best backup goalie in the league hands down.

Ozzie will own the Flames tonight.
