Mickeyisms Rule! 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2007 OK so this is a weird question, but was anyone else here absolutely freaked out by the appearance of new hair on Larry Murphy's head? It isn't even the same color it was last year, and there is definitely more of it. Here is a link to his bio. The picture is from last season: http://msn.foxsports.com/id/1531065#lmurphy I am hoping that someone has the game recorded and can get a screen cap of Murph when he was between the benches. Spooky. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 11, 2007 His hair is black now, or dark brown. Definately weird when you compare that to his old orange hair.
Yzermania19 1 Report post Posted October 11, 2007 Yeah, the new hair color is a bit strange...Murph was always like a strawberry blonde and now his hair is kind of a medium brown color. And it looks like there is more of it, too. Even my mom said, "didn't he used to be a blonde?" LOLOL

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 haha that ones pretty brutal aint it? Oh, I get it now. The brutal ones are hard to catch. I needed a bru-net for that one. As an unapolegetic dyer of my hair since the birth of Brett Lebda (not that they're connected, just giving an historical referrence), I would like to add that when one dyes one's hair a darker colour, it appears that there is more of it if the previous colour was a light shade such as Larry's, or in my case, grey. It is possible that Larry's hair just looks like there's more of it. Or he could be moosing. He's Canadian. They know about moosehead up there.

This post gelled together so nicely its the highlight of my day so far. Of course if theres one man who knows about hair gel...its gotta be Kjell Samuelsson. joey_corleone 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 His hair is almost as bad as his announcing. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Having your name on the Stanley Cup mulitple times, being an outstanding defenseman, and in the hall of fame does not give you the right to all the sudden start a career in broadcasting. Zion 93 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 It is hard NOT to genuinely like Larry Murphy, and he's come a long way in his broadcasting career, as demonstrated by his by-the-ice broadcast from my distant and recent memories in the studio. But the hair REALLY makes me laugh... and I do not like to laugh at my Red Wings. Ever.
