Do any Red Wing players read this forum?

I'm not sure about players, but the dude who runs Datsyuk's website posts here occasionally.

He even told us a day in advance that Datsyuk's resigning was going to be huge.

Dear LGW,

The real reason I signed with the Rangers in 2006 was the negative comments I read about myself on your board. They made me sad.

Signed,

Brendan Shanahan

OK, let's admit it, haven't we all posted something we think is funny or brilliant and hoped that Kenny, Mike, or one of the players has a friend who was reading at that moment? Come on, you know you have. Um, right?

Oh geez.. fine I'll admit it. I am really Chris Osgood. That is why I defend myself so much on these boards.

You know that if a Red Wing actually posted, especially on this topic, that no one would actually believe it was them anyways. That would be sweet though if a player actually were on here. I'm sure they'd love to be lectured on how to play better hockey by all of the experts here at LGW...

Actually I'd be a little surprised if players don't read message board, but they'd never post because they realize what would happen if fans knew they were there. If I was a players I'd want to check Message Boards.

With their job, I bet if they read something negative about themselves it wouldn't really matter to them or they'd just laugh. I'm sure they're thick skinned when it comes to that kind of stuff because it happens all the time. I would think players who'd get offened, would never make the NHL.

I remember on the Pearl Jam Message Boards we thought one of the posters was the guitarist, Mike McCready, but we never knew 100%.

I know it's not a player, but Bobby Higginson's Dad posts on a Detroit Tigers Message Board I go to on occassion.

What's to stop Chelios from using this as a venue to perform "market reseach?" Perhaps all these threads are his way of finding out what we, the fans, would think about him doing these things.

He is unfamiliar with such advanced forms of technology.

maybe sirdrake is chris chelios.

He can't be. You can't type and mountain bike without water whilst running businesses and doing charitible work and lying on your back hovering over a puck, whilst somehow shooting said puck into the stands repeatedly.

He sounds more like a goalie. You know, the kind that have very little to do but hold a clipboard and have random thoughts, which they can conveniently write down given that they're holding a clipboard, until that fateful day when they are called in to replace their starter, at which point they give a stellar performance, but, due to their team's ability to control the puck, they still have time to come up with thoughts, just no where to write them down.

It kind of sounds like someone I've heard of, but I can't quite place him. It's been a tough day. A band of pirates pillaged my brain, and it had nothing to do with Chris Chelios.

I can't say that I know for a fact that any players have visited here, but I do know that family members have and that a good portion of the local media does, too.

Remember, Big Brother is always watching. ;)

Also, players DO visit websites like these and do occasionally post. I think the most famous recent example of this was last season when Hockey Alliance affiliate CalgaryPuck.com had defenseman Andrew Ference post on the forums there thanking the Calgary fans for his time there shortly after he was traded to the Bruins in the Brad Stuart trade.

It was pretty great stuff, too, as he mentioned how he found out about the trade, how he felt, etc..
