Opie 308 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Fair, it at least sets a precedence and if the league doesn't follow suit on a big name like they did these two, then people will be bulls***. Well except the people who root for Pronger, ah I mean whatever player that is!!
Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Fair, it at least sets a precedence and if the league doesn't follow suit on a big name like they did these two, then people will be bulls***. Well except the people who root for Pronger, ah I mean whatever player that is!! I was thinking 15 games but I'm very cool with 25. It matches the penalty for the most part that Simon got. That shows consistency. I don't think many people can complain no matter what side of the fence you're on. Campbell is staying the course and handing out quarter season suspensions and as I said before, the best way to get rid of this stuff is to suspend the s*** out of it right out of the league. arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 I know it was mentioned a lot during the Downie hit, but I just hope when f***-head Pronger pulls some of his dumb s*** the NHL hits just as hard.
Wings_Fan_In_Exile 3 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) This may have already been posted but I hadn't seen it, so... You'll see it about the 35 second mark. Not sure what Boulerice was thinking... Edited October 12, 2007 by Wings_Fan_In_Exile
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 boulerice is a goon, plain and simple. this isn't the first time he's done something like this. i'm happy with 25, but more would have been fine. cross-checking someone in the side of the head?!?! c'mon! players like boulerice are bad for the game. Kutcher 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 I'm glad the NHL is keeping consistant, atleast thus far, it will be interesting to see if the consistancy stays when a star is involved.

HomeNugget 2 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 25 is fair. though i think it woulda been better if they tied him to a chair and then beat his face with a hockey stick. 25 games is good too, i suppose.
johnnyoski 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Burke will make some BS excuse for Pronger saying he's so tall that its not really a high hit.
wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Seems pretty fair.. It was bad that he still wanted to fight after kessler wasn't moving
Turkey 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 This works for me. I also think that this should be a one warning and your done sort of deal. If someone like Simon or Boulerice does it again they are done for good. I agree with some of you when it comes to being suspicious that this same standard won't be used against a star player. I would love to watch Pronger crying in the pressbox.

Here is a link to a story about how Andrew Long feels about the Boulerice/Kessler Incident. Boulerice slashed Long across the face, well technically he tried to be Hank Aaron and use Long's face as a baseball. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...55-50421fd73b38 Even better ( i love youtube) but blurry just watch the action behind the net. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aNG4uOpwUI Edited October 12, 2007 by Opie

Opie 308 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 The more I have read on this guy's past the more I think he should have received a 41 game suspension. Half the year and the next time he does it one full season, if he is still dumb enough to try this again, game over, career, goodbye do not past go on your way out the door!!! You're being too optimistic, Harold. A Pronger suspension for the same act might be 4 or 5 games, tops.
Turkey 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 I'm not sure if I would count minor league infractions toward my "one warning and done" rule. I think it would be case by case. In this case, since Boulerice's total lack of control has already nearly killed someone, I think I would probably have banned him.

BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 25 doesn't seem long enough to me. Comparing this to what Downie did, I think he should have gotten more. What he did was far worse that what Downie did, no question. I'll believe the NHL is really cracking down when a star gets this type of suspension. Until then, this means nothing. So far Campbell has suspended two meaningless guys.
