Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 Well at present, our #1 isn't doing anything spectacular in GR so maybe Griggs will spend longer at van Andel unless he starts to up root trees in the next 2 weeks. I still believe that he could be a good 2nd line winger for us. The kid Ericsson is leading the AHL after 3 games in +- with a +6 rating. he started well last year but had a blip in the middle season. Can he keep it going all year? I think he may get a call but later in the season, the Wings like what he has and also his size. Ryno has a point per game so far in his rookie year, with his size and skills maybe he could get a call if Kopecky and Downey don't work out as top brass intended. Carl Corazzini and Mark Cullen lead the Griffs in scoring so far as well as both being a +3. Would do a job for the Wings if called upon, but I think that 1 of the youger players will get the nod before them. But my tip is that Howard is going to get a call first. It's early doors yet but he has started well and with the likelyhood that Babs may want to give Dom a rest on one of the long road trips Jimmy may see the ice sooner than later. Outside tip, Ryan Oulahen.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 If Grigs isnt doing anything then its probably going to be Ryno with Downey being sent down. I dont even have to say what my reaction to that will be.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 Hopefully Kopecky get's sent down to GR sometime soon. He is absolutley useless. If the Wings wanted to keep a 6'3 forward who has no scoring ability and did not play physical at all, they might as well have just re-signed Josh Langfeld. Grigorenko probably will get called up, regardless of his terrible play in GR. Hopefully Downey comes out and really proves himself, so it's at the expense of someone else (again, perferrably Kopecky). I cannot begin to comprehend how mad I'll be if they send Downey to GR and keep one of these useless scrubs up his place. Ellis may work hard, but he doesn't do anything else, and his hard work hasn't been notable to me at all in for what little he played. And Kopecky just plain sucks. Those two aren't needed in the lineup at all, especially since they don't do anything in the little ice time they get. With Downey, you can at least send him out to go after someone if liberties are taken on Zetterberg or someone else. But, there's no point in ranting over it. It's the inevitable that Downey will be sent down by the end of this month. Hopefully he at least get's some games in before that.
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 Looks like it's Downey...With Samuelsson out with the groin injury, Ken Daniels just said Downey will be in the line-up!
