omnipotent_hudler 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Ducks come out with a fire under their asses, game is tight until the third when the Wings internal clocks wear them down due to how late it would be at home. Ducks: 4(Bertuzzi, Getzlaf, Pronger, Moen) Wings: 2(Lidstrom, Holmstrom)
Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Hopefully we'll have our legs tomorrow. I know sometimes statisticly the second game of a back to back can weigh on a team. Esecially since it's on the west coast. But I think we'll be ready for a competitive contest. Red Wings 3 Ducks 2 Red Wings Goals Scored By: Zetterberg, Lidstrom, and Drake. Ducks Goals Scored By: Kunitz, and McDonald.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I note with delight that Lilja is represented in the lineup by his preferred nickname of PAIN TRAIN. I request the same treatment for Pronger and humbly suggest WHINY *****.
ProfessorLidstrom5 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I'm hoping to see The Drake vs Perry round 2. Maybe this time Perry won't be as much as a ***** and take his damn helmet off. Wait, I am talking about Perry though so nevermind... 3-1 Wings

redwingslady87 130 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 i will be up late watching.. feeling another close game. Wings are all tired cause of the traveling and time difference, but they're coming off a win, and the ducks have a s***ty schedule, with giguere still getting use to things after coming back from his surgery. So hopefully the boys will still have the fire lit under their asses. Predicting another great night by D-Z-H as always. Sammy take your time getting better, really don't rush things. Wings 3-

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Wings won't be too tired. At least, not any moreso than a usual back-to-back. The time difference SHOULD be balanced out by tomorrow night, considering, as Murphy noted, the game ended well before midnight on their internal clocks. Tonight was just like a normal game for them, so I'm assuming tomorrow they'll only be the usual level of tired going into a secon dback-to-back game. I expect it to be close, but I hope the Wings pull out the win.

interminded 1 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 As usual, a great preview by Aflac !!!! Awesome job ! Tight game... maybe a shoot-out. 3-2 or 4-3 Wings.
GreatGS 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Berttuzzi sat out the last two periods with a possible concussion. Playing with a concussion is a good way to wind up with Eric Lindros Syndrome but big Bert might just be that dumb. Looking for Kronwall to put him in a coma if he plays. Nero 20 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 I was really upset to see that this game took place a day after another game. However since the Ducks also had a game yesterday I'm not too bothered, since at least it is fair I will call a 3:1 final score for Detroit. Lets go Red Wings! Gizmo 21 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) This one's too close to call... it's a coin flip (with an edge to the home team). The time works against the Wings, the Ducks are sick of losing and they'd like to erase the memory of that SO loss. But this time around the boys (ZDH) are back in town! P.S. Let hope the Wings can keep Pronger and his flying elbows in check! Edited October 15, 2007 by Gizmo
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Today's game will be decided by the magic letterboard. The Wings have "K". All players with K in their surname will score a goal, all with K in their first name will have an assist: Nick L. will assist Kronwall. Henirk will assist Datsyuk. Nik K. will assist Drake. Kris will assist Rafalski. Kirk will assist Kopecky (twice, of course). Dominik Hasek will assist himself. Sammy will return on "S" day. The Ducks have the letter "Q". Congrats to Andy McD of the Ducks on the new baby.

WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Sounds to me like Bertuzzi is not going to play tonight... Per ESPN... Bertuzzi sat out the final two periods with what Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said was an apparent concussion. Bertuzzi was hurt when hit by Minnesota winger Derek Boogaard nearly 14 minutes into the game. "He moved the puck toward the net and Boogaard ... I don't know if he ran down but he took an extra step to come down to hit him," Carlyle said, according to The Los Angeles Times. "His shoulder or arm area caught flush on the jaw of Bertuzzi." The severity of Bertuzzi's concussion is unknown. He will be re-examined Monday; Carlyle told The Times his player is "highly doubtful" for Monday night's home game against Detroit.
