Drake & Rafalski autograph signing

Recommended Posts

Newcomers Dallas Drake and Brian Rafalski will be signing autographs at Hockey Authentics in Troy from 6-8pm on Monday, October 22nd. Yours truly will be working the event as a Wings PR intern.

Fans who donate a new smoke detector with batteries will receive one autograph from Drake. Together with local fire departments and law enforcement agencies, all detectors will be donated to low-income residents throughout Metro Detroit. The signing will conclude this year’s smoke detector collection which also took place at three home games earlier this month when fans generously donated 800 detectors. Spokesman Henrik Zetterberg will match the total of all detectors collected with a personal donation.

Rafalski will sign autographs for fans who make a monetary donation to the Red Wings Breast Cancer Awareness Program (minimum donation of $5 requested). The team will host its first Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, October 26 when the Wings take on the San Jose Sharks. All proceeds will benefit local families battling breast cancer.

Wristbands for Monday’s autograph signing will be issued at Hockeytown Authentics beginning at 10 a.m. October 22. A maximum of 500 wristbands will be handed out prior to 6 p.m. For more information, please call Hockeytown Authentics at (248) 680-0965. Hockeytown Authentics is located at 1845 E. Big Beaver on the Northwest corner of Big Beaver and John R in Troy.

Things like these make me hate living in Indianapolis... and add to the fact its the day after my bday.

These things never work out to go on at a time I go up for a game, hopefully this year when I go up for the Thrashers/Wings game in january, something like this will be going on.

I might go up there if I can get up early enough to go get one of the wrist band things

Sounds cool Christy! Good luck with the charity signing.

I likely won't be there, but hopefully you guys have a good turnout.

I wonder what i should have them sign? do you think they will just have pictures there already for them to sign or something.

My "default" is pucks. They're small, light to carry, and they store better than photographs may over the long run.

But I think picking something unique and you like is even better.

Also worth noting; Jiri Hudler and Andreas Lilja will be appearing at the 7-11 on the corner of "Overhyped" and "Turnover". Fans are asked to donate 1 can of creamed corn for either player's autograph.

Did anyone get a chance to make it over to Hockeytown Authentics tonight?

I did. It's the first one like this that I've gone to. I was freaking out when I got off work at 3:30 thinking they were out of wristbands. I got up there and got #76 out of 500....... I had to wait in line a little bit, but after 6PM the line moved awesome. I went from where I started to the tables in less than 10 minutes. The line was gone by 6:30, and people just kinda strolled in after that, I even had a friend show up at 7 and still got the signatures. Some guy rolled up with a Rafalski college jersey, I thought that was cool. On a side note, HTA is selling former Red Wings jerseys for $50 or $100 and have bunch of Schneider, Lang, Bertuzzi, and a s***load of Bootland jerseys.....

I bought 1 of the 8x10's they had available of each player. The one for Drake has him kicking Burish's ass. I'm decorating a room at the moment, and these will be sweet in it, once they are framed.

I was wondering if they were going to have photo's available of the players. Congratulations on the Drake photo.
