So far, I think, everyone's doing a great job. Especially Ellis and Meech. Oh yeah, and Hank, Pav, and Homer too.

Me neither, Lilja has looked very well lately, I think some people forget that he only makes 1m/yr, you have to take that into account. Samuelsson has been playing great as well, 8pts in 9 games. Flip-check 6 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 The goal was also a milestone for Lilja, his 50th point in 330 career games. "Is it?" Lilja said. "I didn't know that. I don't get many points. So it's every milestone I can get." "I like to block shots," Lilja said. "It helps out the penalty kill a lot. Every time somebody blocks a shot it's good because it doesn't go to the goalie. The wisdom that crawls from Andreas Lilja's ever-lovin' mind makes me raise tribute to him - once again - for one more day. <-- Keep up playing a good game Lilly, cos every time you score it's good because it goes into the net. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Last year he started playing better after he dropped the gloves several times. So when is he going to drop the gloves again? How long do I have to keep waiting, dammit?

Guest Hatethedrake! Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Last year we really had no one who could drop the gloves so he was willing to use his face as a punching bag. He has guts and that is always welcomed on a hockey team. However now we have Downey and Drake so Lilja doesn't have to drop them. But I expect to see a few Lilja fights this season. As soon as Quincey is ready to go, the ol' Pain Train is going to have to impress to stay in the line-up. Competition breeds strong play.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 I've said for a while.....he's no top-4 defenseman, but he's a better 6th defenseman than most other teams have. Go Pain Train.

He's a big hulking guy and really knows how to put on the body. I just don't want his face to get too jacked up. Flip-check, I'm diggin' the avatar/icon thing! I think I'll change mine back for now. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that got a chuckle out of his logic. I also particularly liked the following comment: "He made an unbelievable play. I would have blamed myself if I didn't score there." Gofigure, cause I would've blamed Osgood! Sidenote: Lilja has been playing solid ever since March. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 Lils has been fantastic. Love the way he's playing. He's dishin' out hits, sitcking up for his mates, blocking shots, and making great defensive plays along with jumping into the rush every now and then. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted October 29, 2007 He's been playing ok. So I can't really rag on him or anything. His goal in the San Jose game was great. I almost couldn't believe who shot it. That looked like the Lilja during last year's playoffs, before his mulligan in Game 5 of course. Now: I'm just waiting to see him drop the gloves, and all will be good. Flip-check 6 Report post Posted October 30, 2007 From the vg thread: Yeah, I know!!!! That pisses me off. Anyways, there was this thing on youtube. It was Nick playing an NHL game with this video game designer. It was pretty funny. Here it is!!! I remember that too. Lidstrom squeezes him out on the boards if I recall. It's great! I can't promise keeping the Lils av... it's a one-trick pony, but all of a sudden I'm wondering where that NBC Lilja interview from last season is. I know one of you LGWers out there downloaded it to hoard. I don't even remember the questions they asked him. It was due to his end of the season renaissance though.
