edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Heard earlier tonight on "Faceoff" on XM Home Ice that the news out of Anaheim is that Bertuzzi's concussion isn't as minor as it was originally reported. He skated today and his concussion symptoms are no better than they were the day he received the concussion. Current reports are stating a possible return date of "December", but it could be longer. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Not that Holland is wishing injury upon anyone, but he's gotta be smiling knowing that $4 million of the Wings cap isn't vested in a guy that probably won't play half the season.

NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 I think Holland already knew that before the signing! Perhaps, but even the more injury prone players can be unpredictable. You just never know.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Bertuzzi not able to play because of a concussion? Boy, that must be an unexpected blow to him, getting knocked out of the game like that. So sad. I guess I could say something about how it's karma, but that might just be piling on after the concussion. I wouldn't want to rub his face in it. Offsides 21 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Yeah, it's times like this when we're glad we didn't pick him back up. So it was definitely a good call, but it's still a shame, I'd have liked him in the lineup here.

If you were to say something about karma, I guess I could agree. But that could open the door for conjecture: when exactly did the concussion occur? On the intial hit, or after you, me, and everybody else piled on? I agree; some things are better left untyped. He does seem to be earning the nickname of "Frajeeley" these last few years, though. Yeah but then you have the other side... if he was still playing with us he wouldn't have been invoved in that collision... And hence might not have the concussion. Sorry just being deep Edited November 14, 2007 by OsGOD

ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 guess Holland really shut a lot of people up so far this season, Bert and Schiender were injuried, and are starting to show signs of having consistant problems

So it was definitely a good call, but it's still a shame, I'd have liked him in the lineup here. I wanted Bert to sign here as well, especially due to him being from my hometown, and the hopes that he just might return to the player he was in '02.But he definitly was not worth what he was asking, due to his injury problems.Paying 4 million a season for an injury prone player is pure stupidity.I'm VERY glad Holland did'nt agree to pay him that, especially now. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 That's really to bad, I was hoping Todd would have a come back season. But once again I say, why in the world did he sign with the Ducks?
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 That's really to bad, I was hoping Todd would have a come back season. But once again I say, why in the world did he sign with the Ducks? Because he's an *******. Boo hoo hoo. Poor Todd Bertuzzi is injured. Maybe he shouldn't have signed such a ridiculous contract, and considered his future and overall benefit by staying here instead. He isn't worth the money he signed, and it's becoming extremely apparent now. I'm very bitter that he left. He made all those comments about wanting to "retire" in Detroit, and then he just leaves like that? And to Anaheim no less. Screw him.
Duck Guy 86 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 (edited) It is apparent Bert is not worth the money right now. I hope he will be ok and not miss that much of the season. After having the problems with his back gone this season he has already had a Groin Injury and now this. On a side note i think Schneider is a excellent player. I always see him shooting the puck to the side of the goalie getting a nice bounce off the boards which leads to a scoring chance. GET WELL BERT Edited November 15, 2007 by Duck Guy
Draperfan 104 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 (edited) guess Holland really shut a lot of people up so far this season, Bert and Schiender were injuried, and are starting to show signs of having consistant problems But in Bertuzzis case it was a nobrainer, the guys hockey career was over long ago(since the Moore hit)when he rammed his head into the ice breaking his neck.Wheres all the Bertuzzi lovers now?...2 points this season?....guess hes worth 2 million a year ..looks good on you Burke, you deserve him Edited November 15, 2007 by Draperfan
