Melrose thinks Drake is on St. Louis

Barry Melrose will sometimes say smart things about hockey, like when he picked the Ducks to win the Cup last year. He will also say many dumb things like when he said Rafalski was better offensively than Schiender but worse defensively. Well, he said another dumb thing on an ESPN.com video when talking about the St. Louis Blues and the players they have, he said:

"Wtih Tkachuk, Weight, and they brought back Dallas Drake, fan favorite"

...wow Barry, c'mon, you should know where Drake plays.

you guys are all looking it this the wrong way. Melrose knew what he was doing and gave Drake back to St. Louis where he IS still a fan favorite. All this means is that we get to pick any active former red wing and return him back to Detroit. I vote for Shanahan to return.

It wasn't like Melrose was the only one to pick Anaheim as the Cup favorites last year. It was pretty widely preached.

Later on the Eastern Conference clip, he noted that the Leafs "Have not been playing well in Maple Leaf's Garden." Guess he hasn't seen that little new place called the Air Canada Center.

What's to stop Chelios from growing a mullett when he retires and taking Melrose's place? That would be cool. Cheli would be a much better analyst than Melrose.

what to stop chelli from takeing melrose's place? One thing, we will never retire, he will play untill he's 80! :P
