puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 18, 2007 As much as i'd like to just blame Hasek for the whole thing, everyone who has played hockey knows that shorthanded goals are a team breakdown (especially 3 in one game.) We had such a great start to the season this is getting a bit depressing. most fans DO know this, it's just easier to pile on Hasek than to admit the team doesn't play very well in front of him, for whatever reason. This is the teams fault for not showing up, when Hasek has NO HELP, he wont win. Same with Ozzie, and same with Howard. It doesnt matter who's in net when theres 4 shorthanded breakaways givinup. Hasek wasn't stellar, but you can't blame him for every shorthanded goal against. Wheres the defense? Babcock better have some strong words for this team in the room. None of you know anything about hockey if you think Dom has played bad or this game is his fault. I love how the past 2 games and 8 goals he's allowed, he could be faulted for 1 of them (the Mayers shot from the boards). exactly This is a team let down.....it is making me sick to see how blind people are in blaming Hasek!! Over the past 3 games....It would not matter if it was Roy, Dryden, Trechiak, Sawchuck or any other collection of Hall of Fammers....the TEAM has sucked in their devensive play....and now tonight in their PP execution!! Anyone who thinks Hasek has anything to do with this loss is just an ignorant fan who doesn't know the game of hockey. Having to face 4 short handed breakaways in one game is the fault of the TEAM, NOT THE GOALIE. I'd love to see Osgood in this situation. All of you would just be fawning over him and saying it's not his fault. You guys crack me up. EDIT - First time in Wings history they've let up 3 shorties in one game.
