Notes:

-The Red Wings hope to avoid losing four straight games in regulation for the first time in nearly nine years.

-The Red Wings set a dubious franchise record by allowing three short-handed goals in yesterday's game against Chicago, and six-time Vezina Trophy winner Dominik Hasek stopped only 12 of 16 shots.

-Columbus has cooled off since a 5-0-1 stretch from Oct. 23 - Nov. 4, winning just once in their last six games.

Another game in which many like myself won't be watching since it appears it'll be broadcast on the "NHL Network" <_<

I will join you in Lockout 2007, F. Michael. Who knew they were going to do this, she said, as she pays the huge cable bill with digital, HD, and Center Ice, all of which was purchased solely so that one could view yonder Red Wings.

Not.

I hope the Wings are disgusted with themselves and play much, much better tonight v. the BJs.

Heres hoping Hasek gets a season ending groin injury that still lets him pursue all his favorite activities with his family!

@EZ - Hell no!! :o

Dom will be OK given time. He won't be playing tonight, which I think is a mistake, but they're sticking with the no back to back plan. Watch (if you are able to, and not the victim of the NHL Network) and see the Wings come back stellar tonight -- just the game Dom needs to get some zing back. But he won't be out there. That's the way this season is going to go, I believe.

As for EZ's comment: wishing for Dom or any other Wings to go down injured is true class. Do something "useful" and go start another bashing thread. <_<

Please tell me Ozzie is over the flew. I don't even know if I can bother watching if Hasek is playing again.

If Ellis goes in for Drake and Downey still sits, im boycotting!

Im still gonna watch, but if they do that, that's bulls***. They need to get Downey back in the line-up, Drake wont do anything, Ellis wont do anything. Or the better option, Drake and Kopecky out for Ellis and Downey.

If Dom starts, he'll play much better today. If Howard starts, Babs has already given up on Dom.

4-1 Wings, Cleary gets 1g+1a Zetterberg gets a hatrick.

it's a back to back, on a travel day at that. If Hasek plays, I will be surprised, since that violates "The Rule" than he is not allowed to do that. I think they should play him, personally, but I believe Ozzie's in tonight, as was planned. Had Ozzie not been sniffly on Friday, I think the games would have been reversed.

Babs hasn't given up on Dom, nor have the players. Some fans here have, and that's too bad.

I bet they play a game that is 180 degrees from last night's... no stupid penalties, no breakaways, no falling down and letting the skaters go in 1-1 on Ozzie... it's the good life tonight! When Dom ends up with a couple of those sort of games, he will also do fine.

Well, I for one, don't think we're a shoe in just because Ozzie's in net. We've been struggling against our own division, and actually I'm a bit worried. We did some damage on Leclaire last time, but he's a really good goalie.

Anyway, I think it'll be a good game, I hope the outcome's good. I'm in no way in any panic mode, but I'd like to see a win, even a hard fought win...get something going offensively, and hope the d clicks....and if Ozzie's in I hope he's over his sickness.

Man, do we really need to win this game....

Prediction: Game goes to a shootout. In a stunning move with the shootout tied in the 3rd round, Babcock sends in Lilja, who loses his balance and falls on his face, sliding into Leclaire and the net and pushing the puck in with him. Wings win.

line up, goalie assignment

NOTEBOOK: Defenseman Chris Chelios was scratched, part of the master plan to keep the 45-year-old fresh for the playoffs. ... Chris Osgood, who was out sick Friday, had a good, long practice Saturday morning and said afterwards he felt good and would be ready to play tonight. The Wings don't want to play Dominik Hasek, 42, in back-to-back games.

So, that's great. Cheli being a healthy scratch last night was part of the defensive breakdown (if they need to rest anyone, it's Lidstrom - they are killing him out there). Gotta love the Master Plan. Ozzie gets the redemption game with an embarrassed team and the defensive pairs back the way they need to be. While the BJs are no pushover, Wings will win this one.

I am missing this game (thanks to the wonderful NHLN) and the next 4 games, since my out of town family where I am going for Thanksgiving don't watch hockey. Bummer.

Gimme a 4th line of Drake-Kopecky-Downey.. That will bring me a smile even when we loose.

I want Ellis in.. I don't know why he's been scratched, but I haven't been watching closely lately either.

I think we'll see a different team tonight though. They were playing pretty well last night, and again, I kind of expect them to play differently in front of Ozzie. This will factor into how they execute out there.

If Dom were to play, you'd still see a better effort tonight, I suspect. Hasek isn't the reason for half-a-dozen breakaways in a game, that's the Wings doing that. Why, is the question? They need to work on that.
