Draper out two weeks

I didn't mean to, the site timed out on me. I didn't think either of my threads were posted about this and now I see they both made it.

Apologies.

:(

Don't apologize, I was just wondering how the hell you did it? I didn't think one could post a new thread without an initial post.

the one thing i don't mind about this is that Franzen will go to the Cleary/Malts line and Rex might finally get some decent minutes.

still sucks to lose drapes though..

i imagine our PK will take a hit.

Terrible news, but at least it comes at a time when we're ahead in the standings and have a bunch of non-conference and home games coming up.

Funny how we all respond differently to the same thing. Here I am breathing a sigh of relief that Draper's MRI came back negative and he'll only be out two weeks, and everyone else is pretty down about it!

It's no good to lose a player like Draper, but when you think about it, you're going to lose players to injuries over the course of a season, no matter what, so when they aren't serious that's by far the most important thing.

F-word, double F-word. There goes are kick ass PK and Face-offs! Poor Maltby doesn't have his buddy there anymore.

I hope Draper gets better really, really, really fast? He's a friggin' speed demon, so I think he can do it. :sly:

The way he went down last night, I was fearing it was a lot, lot worse of either a torn MCL or ACL.

That he was able to get up on his own power fairly quickly and able to skate back to the bench for the most part on his own, as well as drive to the hospital, was encouraging.

Two weeks isn't as long as everybody thinks in the regular season. Sprained injuries are a pain in the ass in the fact that they aren't as bad as breaks/tears obviously, but they just never seem to just completely go away. So, as much as I'd like to have Draper back in the lineup ASAP, I'd be cautious and maybe take an extra few games or a week if necessary.

The team is still sitting pretty in the standings and I don't see them just completely struggling for wins for a while, so they can afford to rest Draper a bit more IMO. Of course he's one of our best PKers, but Babcock roles so many people out shorthanded that other players are more than capable of picking up the slack.

If you create a new topic and just add the topic title or description, but don't type anything in the "body" and hit post new topic, the thread will be created without an actual post. This is the second time I've seen this happen.

Really, I always thought it kicked it back at you saying you need to type atleast something in the body for a new thread to be created. Oh well.......good news about Draper.
