Kopecky Goal

I must've watched Kopecky's goal about 10 times already! From Lilja waiting for the lane to open up, to the exchange between them, to Kopecky making the move and just roofing it it! Stellar job boys! We're all just numb to plays like this because we've got guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg on our team!

Kopecky Goal (Click where it says click!)

Cheers!

It was a nice head fake and what not, but I still found it a bit overrated. It was nice, just nothing too spectacular. One of those effortless looking goals you see from guys like Getzlaf and Lecavalier nightly.

Lol....you just contradicted yourself, and proved the point that it was a fantastic goal coming from someone like Kopecky because he scored a goal similar to Getzlaf and Vinny. I'd say for kopay thats pretty good.

Also i wouldnt even consider getzlaf to score those nightly, he has more garbage goals than top shelf beauties

You can say it's kind of a contradiction, but the effortless looking goals aren't the highlight reel ones, they're alright, but not the best.

It was a pretty nice goal...hey, ill give it up to the guy. Congrats to Kopecky for joining the company of Colton Orr, Eric Godard, and Raitis Ivanans with his first goal

I like this Kopecky goal better.

Kopecky shootout goal

Another beautiful goal! I think they're equally bad ass. I also love the fact that this kid throws his body around. Gotta love that.

I'd still take him over any of those guys. None of them have any "team toughness". Besides, that goal will probably excuse his pathetic play this season for the next 10 games here on LGW.

what are you talking about?

He made a nice fake to freeze the goaltender, then roofed it on the backhand.

Somebody said it was amazing that he had the ability to roof the puck when he was that deep into zone (2 or 3 feet behind the goal line). That isn't that hard to do, while I'll agree that the initial head fake was impressive, after that was all said and done, the shot wasn't as incredibly difficult as people put it out to be. 2 or 3 feet from the goal line isn't that tough of an angle.

I'll admit the technique wasn't by any means difficult to pull off, but it was probably the best way for him to guarantee himself a goal, and we definitely can't forget style points :). I just hope that goal lights a spark and he becomes a bit more of a consistent scorer

ah.

yeah, you would hope that at this level a lot of guys could roof it like that.

And it wasn't the greatest goal of all time, but I really like seeing Kopecky showing the instincts and patience of a goal scorer like that. He didn't panic, made a nice move and buried it.
