LeftWinger 5,150 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 ...well, no worries dude, if things (w/Osgood and the Wings) continue the way they are going, by time the All Star Game gets here, Babcock will be the coach and he WILL select OSgood as an All Star, as a matter of fact, whomever the head coach, he should give Osgood the call... YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 I dont Osgood will get the votes cause hes not an exciting name. Most peopel still think of him as washed up, despite having probably the most ridiculous record in the entire league right now.
Zion 93 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 I don't think you fully understand the implications of Osgood making the All-Star team. If he makes it, he either: a) Gets injured during the breakaway relay during the Skills Competition 2) Gets lit up so badly during the 2nd period of the All-Star Game that he is NEVER the same again or C) Gets involved in a sex scandal that forever rocks the hockey world Osgood does not NEED this kind of distraction. Just another Cup ring.

Just another Cup ring. I kinda agree. I would rather see all the Wings skaters make the team and NEITHER goalie. We don't need another game for Dom's groin to get pulled in and Ozzie was already an all-star once. So, we gain nothing be sending either there. However, sending Dats, Z, Lids, Raffy, and Lilja will strike fear into all the other players in the league.
interminded 1 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 I dont' even want Ozzie to go to the All-Star game. It's not an All-Star game. It's back-by-popular-demand-Game. For me Ozzie is an All Star. He doesn't have to play in a F-ing event where as mention by someone before me, gets shelled in a game without any defense and even worse... could get injured. The All Star game lost lots of cred the last 10 years..

BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2007 Personally, while Ozzie is having a good season, he doesn't crack the top three goalies out of the WC that I'd like to see play in the all star game. 1. Louongo 2. Turco 3. Bryzgalov 4. Khabibulin 5. Kipper 6. Leclaire 7. Ozzie I don't care about how seasons are going. We all know that the all star game is nothing more than a sideshow weekend. Here's why I'd like to see each of these guys... 1. Luongo - he is one of the top 3 goalies in the NHL today, and is great to watch. 2. Turco - he can be great, he is streaky, but he is a riot when he is mic'd up. 3. Bryz - just to showcase what the Ducks gave up, and show the world just how good he is 4. Khabibulin - he is just fun to watch 5. Kipper - great goaltender 6. Leclaire - it'd be great to get some exposure for this young kid. One last thing, I think no playing in the all star game would be a nice break for all our guys. But we all know Hank, Pav, and Nick will be there. That's enough Wings. The twitch in his right eye when the camera is zooming in ? Granted.. that's funny. I would say it's that, but I don't think Bulin is all that much fun to watch. Turco is funny, but apparently that's not enough to get him voted in unless the show is held in Dallas again. That worked for him last year. We represent only a small sample of the millions of Wings fans all over the country and the world, so if all of them would vote for Ozzie (I did!), he might stand a chance, for those who want to see him at the event. Or better still, the powers that be over the sideshow can just "appoint" him the way they did Turco last year. There are plenty of Wings on the roster, with the three top spots already going to Zata, Nick and Lids. I will breathe a sigh of relief if they all come back uninjured. And what on earth makes Khabibulin so special that he's "fun to watch" ? The twitch in his right eye when the camera is zooming in ? Granted.. that's funny. Saying Ozzie is miles ahead of Bryzgalov, Khabibulin and Kipper is just foolish. Ozzie is playing well, that much is true. But if you think for one second that he wouldn't be traded straight up (salaries aside) for any of those three guys, you are crazy.

Guest wingswillwincup Report post Posted December 5, 2007 osgood isnt the write in leader because fans from other cities now he isnt that great , he's playing with an awesome team in front of him and facing under 25 shots a game , easily 15--20 on most nights , hes just doing his job which is what we need from him right now until hasek regains his form and takes us into the playoffs, he hasnt really been challenged ( let the bashing begin)

And all you have to do is compare his record with Doms to know that a team can only go so far in salvaging wins for their goaltender.
PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 Love the ENTHUSIASM!! I vote faithfully everyday. I don't know, but my fingers are getting sore from scrolling down to his name. Actually, if you click the scroll down menu and press "C" for Christopher 7 times, it will magically skip to Ozzie.

If you don't believe he's been great this season, you're way beyond biased. He hasn't had a bad game yet, has let in very few questionable goals and has made plenty of outstanding saves to keep us in games. Like him or not, he's been an among the elite goaltenders in the league this year without question.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2007 ozzie isnt going to get a crack at the all star game based on that he is a write in vote. People are too lazy to ever scribble a players name down in an all star ballot, no matter what sport.
