commadore183 103 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I think I'm gonna need a defibrilator in the house when the Wings play like that again! As much as I like Hasek, Ozzie is the man right now. Hasek's not far off, but the Oz certainly was magical in the crease. Let's not do this again, Wings. 2-1 Wings win. Stay safe and sleep well everyone. Night. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I did not like that game. We were lucky to get the win. Great play by Ozzie.
Jwo 7 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 WOW Boards down for awhile due to Osgood awesomeness in the minute.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 The Wizard of Oz, indeed. 14-1-1. If not for Ozzie, that game would have been a blowout by Nashville.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Three Stars (NHL) 1. Flip 2. Ozzie 3. Ellis (Dan) Both goalies were the best players on the ice, IMO.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Some of you stated a few weeks ago that Ozzie has played really good, but hasn't stolen a game for the Wings yet. This game was won because of Oz tonight. That's a fact! GO OZZIE!!!!! 14 & 1 baby!!! He is playing some unbelievable hockey. The last minute 3 huge saves! GET THIS MAN IN THE ALL STAR GAME! FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Grrreat game Ozzie! What they always say about good teams... GO WINGS! G' night.
gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I hate that Detroit had to play lousy to get a game to watch, but damn, that was fun getting all tied up in knots in the 3rd. The ending was so much more exciting. Hopefully they pick their game up along with the other teams as that was some entertaining hockey despite the sloppiness. Great game by Ozzie. 14-1-1...unreal and just an outstanding effort tonight to get that 14th...it was all his.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Those last two minutes were crazy. I was getting pretty nervous.
Tiribulus 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Osgood definitely won this game for us. With the possible exception of Leclaire I don't know if any net minder in the league is playing better at the moment. Man will the boys need this day off tomorrow. auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Wow awesome thank you. It's nice to be able to discuss wings somewhere. I post on the Pistons Board because I love all the teams, but it's tough to get wings talk going over there. You're welcome. No problem at all. On a related note, tonight's win was the first this season on the tail end of a back-to-back.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I really don't like saying that being tired is a reason for bad play, so I won't. But it doesn't make any sense why the Wings would lie back like that tonight. They had leads in previous games and never let up. In any sport, no matter what, it is never okay to sit back and play not to lose.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Osgood played like a ******* wall. I'm still furious they allowed that bogus shorty goal, the guy was tangled up with Ozzy. We all know that if Homer's skate even looks close to the pant in the crease, goals are disallowed and he is sent the box. More frustrating was that my Center Ice feed at FSN South, the Preds homer announcers, made every scrum sound like a damn revolution, and when the shorty goal happened, they just ended up saying "you know, thats what you have to do to beat Chris Osgood, one guy lays in the crease and the other slides the puck under", like it was the greatest damn thing in the world...... I'm giving Osgood the unofficial shutout, that shorty was a Busch as they come.... Ozzy's night: 31 saves, 1 bs goal allowed, .9688 save %
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 CHRISTOPHER JOHN OSGOOD!!! (sorry, HC) Talk about the goalie stealing a game. Whew!
puckbags 863 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 The sign of a good team is when they can win when they play bad, we didn't play very good tonight but its another W.
HoustonWingsFan 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I loved this game. It was exactly like a playoff game. I don't want the Wings to just win the easy Hank and Pavel on SportCenter games. I want them to scrap for everything. They did that tonight. Lets recap: 7 wins in a row. Road win after whipping Carolina at the Joe last night. Outshot the Preds 35-28. The best record in the NHL by a long shot. Did I miss anything?
dallas27 7 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 It's going to take Hasek a while to reach the level Osgood is at right now. I don't give a s*** if he is Hasek. Osgood is just playing flat out nasty right now.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 Three Stars (NHL) 1. Flip 2. Ozzie 3. Ellis (Dan) Both goalies were the best players on the ice, IMO. Psh. My three stars are, in order: 1. Chris Osgood in the third period 2. Chris Osgood in the first period 3. Chris Osgood in the second period Flip can have the honorable mention star for displaying probably the only instance of hustle in that game and having it lead to a goal. Maybe he can share it with Kopecky, for being in the right place at the right time and for being the only Wing to bother actually hitting anyone. If that was, say, Colorado, or if Ozzie wasn't a stone-cold brick wall, that's a 6-2 loss tonight. Yeccchh. Glad to get out of there with the two points. I'd have settled for one even. I can't remember the last time the Wings looked so unfocused.
PenaltyShot 96 521 Report post Posted December 11, 2007 That was a lazy ugly win, but Ozzie played like an All-Star. Flip's penalty shot was freakin sweet too.
