Opie 308 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Well he has shown loyalty to them, maybe now they will get him some talent. Draft a highly touted d-man or trade for a young D. They need to build around him, not just use him to put asses in the seats!
Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 That sucks. That guy is definitely my favorite non Wing player. I know there was no way we could get him, but I was still holding out hope anyway

shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) Worse news of the day if you ask me. I to was hoping that we would have an outside chance to get him but knowing that we never would. Good for him. It's nice to see a little loyalty these days in sports. I thought that he would be running for the big money at the end of the season. I will now continue my yearly trip to DC to watch him play. Edited January 10, 2008 by shannyfan1414

akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 that sucks for him. Leonsis won't build a successful team for Alex to really show what he's capable. and playing for an AHL quality team for the next 6 regular seasons... that would mean a hell lot of time to play golf
SweWings 45 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Not really surprising this deal is getting done - good for Washington fans, hopefully the team will continue to build around him...And just so u guys realize, the Caps are only 4 points out of a playoff spot - another 3-4 games won would prolly put them there... WingNutt 12 Report post Posted January 10, 2008 Good for Sasha even though nothing is final yet it makes sense, I would have loved him to play in Detroit, just like the capitals were talking about Datsyuk coming to Washington before he signed his deal. However if hes not playing in Detroit I think the Caps are a good fit for him, makes you wonder though the numbers he could put up on even a mediocre team. The Caps have been strugling since he arrived their even after signing more talent, the coach change seems like its starting to move them more in the right direction but all Alex wants to do is make it to the playoffs and move on from their. He plays 110% every night but the Caps can't find a way to win. He has to be frustrating for him. He deserves every penny
