datsyuk_13_fan 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 According to TSN East 1. Kovalchuk 2. Ovechkin 3. St. Louis West 1. Gaborik 2. Datsyuk 3. Getzlaf Will Pavel win? I hope he does something insane..
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 A nice selection of tricksters there for sure, all will dazzle ya, but I'd say East has the slighter odds here. However, since Getzlaf is probably the most excited to be there out of anyone though, I suspect him to be practicing his move left and right to try to make it worthwhile. I predict Getzlaf to have the best move.
wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 I think Pavel will win. First of all, he is my favorite player, second... he works magic with that puck. He is going to make the goalies look bad, and I have a funny feeling that he will have a sick ass deek planned... go PAVEL...

Mason 38 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 I predict Pavel's humble nature will keep him from going too over the top... I hope I'm wrong.
Wings_Dynasty 267 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) The current rules confine Pavel to the laws of physics, time, and space. Once these rules are discarded, the fans better be wearing safety goggles and diapers. Edited January 26, 2008 by Wings_Dynasty
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 i wonder if pavs will do his datsyukian deke, then puck the puck up on his stick, that would be awesome
irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 well if pav is out there, you have to have mickey commentate for him..."oh oh look at this shake n bake"
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Pavel ftw.. btw how come Getzlaf is there too? Hes great player, but not really technical player though.
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Pavel ftw.. btw how come Getzlaf is there too? Hes great player, but not really technical player though. Getzlaf is alot like Lecavalier. The taller guys who have the ability to make dekes strickly with their long reach and smooth stride. Just because he isn't 5'9", 160, doesn't mean he isn't technical. He's a great puck handler. hockey&beer 16 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Pav will win it if Ovechkin doesn't score. The AO's ego fueling his moves I don't think Pav amazing stick work will be able to compensate.
GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Since the goalies know the guys are going to deke instead of shoot, isn't that going to bias the whole contest and give the goalies an advantage?
rougerman 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Something funny that someone should try: imitate the ovechkin barrel roll goal. You definitely will not score, but the judges arent looking for goals, (only 1 point for goal) I think Ovechkin might actually try it himself. in a practice Datsyuk once did 10 different dekes on 10 different attempts and scored every time
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 I wonder if these guys will take out their best in their arsenal, because then the goalies will see these moves for shootout in the regular season, or will the guys in the competition just do some ridiculous stuff that they wouldnt even try in the regular season shootout
seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 I wonder if these guys will take out their best in their arsenal, because then the goalies will see these moves for shootout in the regular season, or will the guys in the competition just do some ridiculous stuff that they wouldnt even try in the regular season shootout I'd be willing to bet it will be more crazy stuff, involving picking pucks up and using their skates more and stuff. Even though I'd like to see crazy legitimate dekes, I imagine we'll see more Robbie Schremp type stuff.
puckbags 863 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 There is a pretty cool on tsn.ca in the broadband section of projected #1 Steve Stamkos doing some pretty crazy dekes and moves that we might see tonight!!
