Kingston 21 Report post Posted February 1, 2008 - According to the Columbus Dispatch, Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson shot down a rumour that the Jackets would send C Sergei Fedorov to the Senators for D Joe Corvo. Of course, with Fedorov suffering a concussion, any deal for the veteran centre will be on the back-burner. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=228690&hubname=nhl
DenJ91 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 according to rumors, they have fedorov going to either the wings, ottawa or pittsburgh. i'm his biggest fan and honestly, i want him going back to the wings, but i certainly wouldn't mind him going to either the sens or pens. their offenses are leaps and bounds above jackets, although who's isn't. his career would spark and i would expect fedorov to shine in the playoffs like he always does. i've put my faith in the jackets as i follow where fedorov goes no matter how big a wings fan i am, but the jackets are just going nowhere and i want fedorov to end his career a winner. i can't wait for the deadline to approach, he just needs to get back playing from his concussion so teams can see him play a few more games before dealing for him

DenJ91 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Doesn't he still live in Metro Detroit or something? i'm not sure where he lives actually, he lived in west bloomfield hills right? i think his family is in michigan, i could be wrong. he still has the sergei fedorov foundation though which he created by giving up his 97-98 salary that helps kids in michigan get scholarships. I don't want to rain on your parade but I just think he's maxed out. I don't think any move to a new team is going to rejuvenate his game. He is what he is, a 38 year old forward with alot of miles on him. He plays with some pretty darn good offensive players and he's basically a 20 goal 40-50 point guy now. He's not going to be a point per game player ever again. He can still help somebody. But I wouldn't give up much of anything for him. Maybe a 3rd round pick at best and definitely no regular roster players. Maybe Dallas Drake.

OsGOD 3 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Yes still has a home in Detroit and yes its in Bloomfield hills and yes he still loves Detroit*. *But the fans that boo him he told me to tell you all to "eff off, your whining is the reason he left in the first place!" his words not mine well maybe not his words either but still the feeling is still there
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Seriously what has Federov done, to deserve the eff off's... Sammy,Lilja on the other hand sure.. But seriously.. Federov? common, he has been nothing but good to us.
Grim 5 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 Seriously what has Federov done, to deserve the eff off's... comeon... he flatout snubbed us before signing with Anaheim. somethin about Michigan weather and not being able to wrap his lamborghini around trees in private. thats why some folks are sour. Just desserts that he would end up banished in Columbus. don't get me wrong. Ilitch still has strong feelings for the guy. I remember a post 2003 tv interview with Ilitch with him explicitly wishing that Fedorov would find his way back to Detroit, eventually. I fully expect Kenny to be right there with offers once Sergei hits free agency. No way do we trade assets for him now. Sergei, despite his tremendous ability, is a proven habitual disloyal bailer. you gotta carrot those types with money... nothing else.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 5, 2008 Hasn't anybody ever asked whether Feds would ever want to go back to playing for the Wings, especially the way the fans have treated him lately?
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted February 5, 2008 Hasn't anybody ever asked whether Feds would ever want to go back to playing for the Wings, especially the way the fans have treated him lately? Right after the lock out I did when there was a meet and greet at nationwide. (for all detroit fans who don't have a clue what that is... its where after the game the players line the concourse and you can get autographs and talk to them ) Anyways i said we miss him a lot and asked if he would come back to detroit if the opportunity arose... he said he would love to play here again. DenJ91 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2008 If he comes back to Detroit you'd be able to hear my shout of joy even across the pond. alright!! i knew there were more fedorov fans on this forum! i can imagine all the fed haters changing their opinion if he were back in detroit. he would be cheered very loudly that first game i know it. egroen 384 Report post Posted February 7, 2008 Anyways i said we miss him a lot and asked if he would come back to detroit if the opportunity arose... he said he would love to play here again. Really? And he was being honest? This from a player who compared leaving the Red Wings to leaving Russia? I was always curious if Sergei missed the Red Wings organization looking from the outside in. Seems like it would be tough not to miss it... but he really had made up his mind he wanted to leave.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted February 7, 2008 (edited) He wanted stability... when the the length of service time was reduced he went to the bidder with the longest possible chance of security. His boss eff'd him by retracting that time. My boss just eff'd me and i am looking for the first ticket out of here... more money/less money I don't care. I don't hold what Sergei did over his head one bit. I would have done the exact same thing given it was a business deal. And for the above, no i have not talked to bobert. But it was a great time to get to talk to Sergei for a bit...highlight of my trip actually. alright!! i knew there were more fedorov fans on this forum! i can imagine all the fed haters changing their opinion if he were back in detroit. he would be cheered very loudly that first game i know it. RED WINGS LEGEND, and don't you's forget it! ok i'm just ranting sorry hell they are all sheep. If Lemiuex was to sign with our team the whole boards would be kissing the very ground he walked on making a sort of BAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAA sound. They are fickle they change with the wind. RED WINGS LEGEND, and don't you's forget it! ok i'm just ranting sorry No need to apologize. A lot of people didn't like how thing went down when he left but I can't help but smiling whenever I see the guy play and it gets really sad when I see him in highlights and games from back when he was still wearing the Wings jersey. I was seriously considering getting his jersey after getting my Yzerman and Lids ones but decided to go with Zetts first. But the next one is definitely gonna be Fedorov. I just can't help myself.
