OsGOD 3 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) And the Wings were by no means dominating last nights game. They dominated the first, the Kings stuck it to 'em the rest of the game. Oh good, i thought my red wings googles were broken for a second... You guys don't ever watch baseball? The starter starts to wear down, and in comes the BULLPEN! Hasek should have been put in the game. Haven't you ever watched hockey outside of the All-star game... They don't do that!?! for one they aren't tossing 100mph fastballs, but instead just standing in front of 100mph pucks. So you leave in a struggling goalie who gets burned for 2 straight goals, then a 3rd...and shortly thereafter a 4th? All this in a span of 20 short minutes. If it was early in the game, I think you might have a better point. But putting in a cold Hasek probably wouldn't done anything better.
FedorovGurl 2 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 I am dying here from all this over-analysis. We did not play well last night (nor did we play well the game before and somehow pulled a win out of our ass which still amazes me ... but I digress) It certainly was not all Ozzies fault. Bringing Dom in cold and having him maybe injure himself (we ARE talking Hasek here folks!) would have made no sense or don't you think Babcock would have done it??!! Jeez. Exactly because by the time you decide enough was enough the damage was already done with little time left .. not to mention our forwards mustered the BIG GOOSEEGG for the final 20+ mins against the same goalie they "dominated" <-- your word not mine for the first two. Guest Jeremy88 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 This loss wasn't Ozzie's fault...our whole team played like crap. We got 3 easy goals then just stopped playing. And then when we tried to get the lead back, LA blocked every shot

The Wings won v. the Wild because Hasek was dominant and didn't let anything stoppable get past him. The team didn't show up at all except for a crucial last few minutes in that game. I guess I wasn't really surprised to see them play badly againlast night, just a continuation of the slide from the game before. And I agree, putting Dom in cold in a game where the team clearly was off wouldn't have made much sense. This game wasn't Ozzie's fault at all. He was a trooper. Maybe everyone will be in a mood to play hockey tomorrow, v. Toronto. That would be nice.
FedorovGurl 2 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 oh yeah, one more thing......... If we are looking to blame someone/something?? I blame that damned 80's music!! "80's Night" my ass!! Does anyone remember how we played in the 80's??!! (the answer to that would be : like six sacks of s***). Jeez pt
jim3033 1 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 These guys better wake up and play for Sunday. I hate that team more than ever before. There should be a bunch of fights and there will have to be scoring from the dead lines. Someone should give Kronwall a purse for getting injured again. dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 8, 2008 (edited) You mean like in the 01 playoffs when Ozzie tanked a late lead to the Kings and we never recovered? Nothing against Ozzie, but when you give up 2 straight goals in the 3rd to allow a game we were DOMINATING in, you need to get your ass pulled to the bench. Funny how you aren't anywhere to be seen earlier in the season and all of a sudden you emerge when Hasek finally pulls it together and then start bashing Osgood. Vintage Gowingsgo. Question: If Hasek does the same thing do you yell at him to be pulled? Probably not. Osgood had no chance on those two goals, Hasek would not have stopped them either. The backhand goal he should have had though. That was pretty weak. Last night's game cemented as Hasek as the starter in the playoffs as well as the game on Sunday. He'll play back to back Saturday and Sunday. *edit* It's actually quite funny to see a lot of people come out of the woodwork Edited February 8, 2008 by dallas27

You can't seriously be talking about last nights game if you think the Wings were dominating. and if you pulled a goalie because he had a problem against a team in a game 7 years ago, that would make you the dumbest coach on the planet. Edit: I seriously think some people don't see the game, but then check the stats and chime in to rip on players. Where in the game to you see we were dominating? We didn't play well and didn't deserve to win simple as that
