haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 Wow the ice looks terrible today. The puck was bouncing right from the first faceoff. The Wings also look a step slow and are getting beat to the puck. Still, not a bad first period. I also see that interference is creeping back into the game. Dats has been impeded a few times trying to chase the puck to the corner. Not a flagrant interference, but the Duck's defense has definitely slowed guys up when they don't have the puck. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 that goal wasn't remotely ozzies fault he was watching behind the net and the guys in front and carter came out of nowhere....all on the defense and the fact it was flukey Yeah well, thats gonna happen with Meech and Chelios on the ice as your D pairing. And people dont think we need to add a Dman..

I would like to go on record that we have room on the D for a 6'6" enforcer with the letters G, R, and T in his name. Hocketownwest 11 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 Goals like that happen when you let them stand behind your net and don't press. Saw that goal coming a mile away. That and Chelios is slow.

(actually not a good idea) wow I guess Wings sure got up right for this one this team seriously needs to wake up, its a tie game, against the team that knocked you out last year. anything to spark this game/team downey fighting someone, a couple of big hits SOMETHING. the game is tied, but the Ducks seem like they have the control. WE NEED FIGHTS Downey already declined Parros, granted in his defense it was after the Wings goal, but still not something i like to see. Hopefully next time he'll take him up on it. And that is why Downey is expendable in my opinion he tends to fight when it isn't necessary and he doesn't when the team needs it.

jim3033 1 Report post Posted February 10, 2008 This is a really good game so far. I like the Drake-Downey-Maltby line and they played good in the first. That Carter goal sucked. Still need to see some secondary scoring. Lot of the players have kicked it up. Lets see if they can play a full 60 minutes.

Hopefully next time he'll take him up on it. I saw that. I like a guy who is smart as much as the next guy, but Downey needs to fight against the Ducks. He NEEDS to. He should challenge a bunch of guys who arent fighters IMO, go after Beauchemin and Pronger, and Niedermayer (Robb) and Perry, etc etc. Just to piss off the heavyweights, Drake needs to man up too. Where's the PAIN TRAIN, he got the name in a game against the Ducks late in the year last year.
