Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted April 10, 2008 My friend said they were chanting "Let's Go Red Wings" at the end of the game last night. I didn't watch long to find out. About 4 years back(could have been longer) there was a DEAFENING "Let's Go Red Wings" chant during a monday night football game where the Lions got blasted by the Rams 35-0. I was downloading songs so I actually still had the game on in the background and Al Michaels was cracking up because it was insanely loud. That was so great... GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Oh my, three outs away from a WIN. I'm honestly really excited and happy to see the Tigers finally breakthrough. Maybe tonight is the start of good things to come for the ballclub.

Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted April 10, 2008 This will be great for their confidence! Time for a seven game WINNING streak now. lol
Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Jones has actually been reliable so far, and again tonight. Somewhat reliable. Tonight though, he was LUCKY to get us out of the 9th. They had bases loaded. Jones put us in a position where one swing of the bat could have tied it up. Unbelievable... Luckily for Jones, Youkilis hit a fly ball. Otherwise, we would probably be in extra innings right now. We definitely won this in spite of Jones.

I would take Jones any day over anyone else in the Tigers bullpen right now.

Which is exactly my beef with Jones as a closer. IMO the worse kind of closer you could have is a contact pitcher. He gives up bases loaded the one inning he actually has to throw??? That's a complete joke. And could have easily cost us the game. And that's truly saying something, considering we had a 4 run lead. I would rather take a chance on no namers like Beltran. I look at TRUE reliable closers around the league, and what do they all have in common??? KKKKKKKKKKKKK. They can actually strike hitters out. Not just throw a pitch and PRAY for a pop up or ground ball. Until we get a true reliable closer(a guy that can actually strike hitters out) I will never be comfortable with out relief. rwfan007 18 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 Clete Thomas is going to make Jimmy think hard about what to do when Granderson comes back
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 (edited) Clete Thomas is going to make Jimmy think hard about what to do when Granderson comes back Platoon in left field possibly with Jones and Thames? Not like those two guys are really hitting the ball at this point anyways. Granderson definitely gets center back, without question. I agree though, Clete Thomas is making the decision very tough on the Tigers. How can you send down, arguably, the Tigers best player through ten games? By the way, props to the bullpen for their outstanding performance in the win tonight. Edited April 12, 2008 by GoWings1905

Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 Great job by the pen. Doesnt make me feel any better mind you, but one step at a time i guess. I know it sounds silly cause we just got the guy, but could it already be time to move Jacque Jones? I dont know, he just doesnt seem to fit for me. I'd rather have Clete and Thames as the platoon when Granderson comes back. Maybe we could garner a semi decent relief pitcher, or even just a prospect reliever with a little bit of potential for down the road. Main thing it does is keep Clete here, and id like to get Raburn back up here at some point.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 Also theres Inge who'd play in right as well, but he may be moved soon too with him swinging a hot bat...

rwfan007 18 Report post Posted April 12, 2008 we arent going to even think about moving inge now, he is leading the team in RBIs, we arent going to move him at least until the rest of the team starts hitting

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 i do not get this team. Where is this team that was supposed to be "good"? All the talk was that their offense would be great, that there only weakness was their bully. This team has much more holes than just that. This team lacks passion, lacks heart. Thats right..i called out the Tigers heart. I say keep and START the players that have shown something like Thomas and Inge. Hopefully granderson can help when he comes back but i doubt it. Do you realize this team is one of the worst slugging % teams out there? Who would predicted that from the team with Magglio, Shef, and Cabrera. I am officially losing my paitence with this team. I am gonna find something else better to do with my sunday afternoon than watch this 11-0 beatdown of the Tigers.
Guest Mac4Life25 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 i do not get this team. Where is this team that was supposed to be "good"? Heck, they weren't suppose to be just good. They were touted as being GREAT this season. Obviously it's not looking good with the slow start. Latin players have a history of slow starts in colder april weather. And the Tigers do have a few latins on the team. lol Their bats will come alive eventually. Pitching is very iffy though... We MUST get relief help.

Guest Mac4Life25 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) another shutout loss... haha i smell another record breaking season in the oven Out of 162 games last season, the Tigers had a grand total of 3 games where they got shutout. THREE. 11 games in and we've already matched that....... Edited April 13, 2008 by Mac4Life25
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) What the hell is up with the Tigers? Whatever it is, I hope they keep it up for the four-gamer they have with the Jays next weekend B.J. Ryan made his return from Tommy John today and got the save against Texas. Jays bullpen is pretty nasty to face, even without Casey Janssen for the rest of the year. Fortunately for the Tigers, they won't get Doc Halladay as it sits right now, as he's scheduled to go Thursday against Texas. There's talk he might be held off for a day and they'll let somebody from AAA start on Thursday so that Doc goes Friday against the Tigers. We'll see. I can't wait to get Scotty Rolen back from the D.L. in a couple weeks. Edited April 13, 2008 by MacK_Attack
