2008 Detroit Tigers Season Thread

yeah, Inge would have made that play in his sleep. I totally think that the Tigers screwed him royally, after he finally got settled as a starting 3B.

didnt they screw with him last time when he was settlin' at the catcher slot. They got pudge and moved him to a different position.

Inge is better defensively, but Cabrera is 10 times better offensively.

Looks like Maggs is picking up right where he left off last season. Already 2 for 2. Single and a double.

Verlander is also looking really sharp.

He was never a big fan of catching though. Inge is an infielder at heart. He was a shortstop at VCU and was only drafted as a catcher because of one session where he put the pads on as a joke and displayed an absolute cannon to second base. Unfortunately for his career as an infielder, scouts were watching.

God I hope once Granderson comes back we trade Inge for some bullpen help. Our relief pitching for now is our only true achilles heel.

I think we might struggle a little bit out of the gate, reason being we need our starting pitcher to go 8 innings each time out so it'll take a few starts for each to build up their arm strength! :D Im not blaming the pen on this occasion mind you, but seeing these guys theyre gonna be marching out there we could be in for alot of frustrations. Im not buying into this Denny Bautista hype one iota, he's crap....as is Lopez, Grilli, etc. On paper it honestly is atrocious.

On a positive note, nice to see Cabrera belt his 1st of many...and a real nice throw by Inge. If he keeps his mouth shut about 3rd and just plays, he'll get back on my good side.
