betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 looks like Inge could start opening day after all. Granderson broke his finger and is on the 15-day DL. http://detroit.tigers.mlb.com/news/article...sp&c_id=det :crybaby: Zumaya, Rodney, and now Granderson. There's such promise for this season - I hope it's not derailed by injuries! I think the offense could suffer the loss of guys like Sheffield or Cabrera or Maggs (only one of them though) but Granderson is the lead-off hitter and the table-setter. Most versatile hitter on the team in that he sprays the ball all over the field and is good for any type of hit at any time. And a future Gold Glover to boot. Hope he heals quickly. GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 I am not sure what makes me more sad: seeing my favorite Tiger (Granderson) injured for a couple of weeks, or knowing Brandon Inge is his temporary replacement.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Inge is probably the best athlete on the team. He is a capable replacement for a few weeks.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Inge is probably the best athlete on the team. He is a capable replacement for a few weeks. I agree to an extent. The Tigers have a chance now to "showcase" Inge in sorts for a potential trade, hopefully for some bullpen help. The dropoff from Granderson to Inge won't be that noticeable in the field, but clearly at the plate is a whole different story. As of now, the Tigers have no table-setter for the big bats in the middle of the order.

Guest Hank=FutureCaptain Report post Posted March 27, 2008 http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/preview08/team?team=det Not too sure about Polanco hitting 96 homeruns.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 27, 2008 lol yeah i saw that too, the thing is, his 96 homers is more than his total RBIs... ponder that one

rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 I dunno guys, I just saw the radar, and there is a band of rain, but it is north of Detroit. We may have ball after all. I think MLB.com lets you listen to the games though.

timothy1997 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 ok, loudest ovation goes to.... I am gonna guess Cabrera.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 PLAY BALL got my Extra Innings on, pleased to see it's not raining. Verlander looks Verlander-y. I am, however, vindicated in my earlier arguments that we will miss Inge's defense at third, as a Cabrera error has put the second KC hitter on base.
GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 Ok if anyone is familiar with SopCast the game is being streamed on channel 46048. Its the FSD feed as well.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 31, 2008 yeah, Inge would have made that play in his sleep. I totally think that the Tigers screwed him royally, after he finally got settled as a starting 3B.
