I think that the announcer got it right when they highlighted that it was an awkward situation for Nik, he got kinda of mixed up with what wayhe was going, and LaPerriere hit him. Were there such thing as a kind of illegal hit, that would be one. But there's not, and it was legal. However, I do now have a man crush on Downey. I noticed that the fight was right by the Av's benhc. Was that because Downey jumped right on to the ice and immediately b-lined it for Lapperiere. Doesn't matter, it was badass, killed him. Our whole season could potentially be over along with a 6th Norris trophy all because of one ugly looking f*** named Lappy. I seen the hit SON but that was a clean hit. I have been here the whole time SON. Still even if it was dirty it is a GAME and you don't wish injury upon a player like that. I don't think anyone here thinks the same way as you. It was like his skate was going in backwards but he was twisted so his leg hit the boards sideways. Never good when your leg bends like that. I still think it's a good sign he put as much weight on his right leg as he did. If you just blew out your knee, you aren't putting that much weight on it in most cases.
