MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Peter Forsberg's agent Don Baizley has announced that he will not sign with an NHL team due to his foot problems.

Hank 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 TSN Not this year. Not a lot of details yet. Not sure if this means he's hanging them up or just waiting for the off season. Good. I'm tired of this guy acting like he's the queen of the ball. The NHL doesn't need him and his fragile bones. P.S. Does anyone else find it ironic that he filed a lawsuit regarding his racehorse that had to be put down because of a bad leg? I wish someone would do the same to him. edicius 3,269 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 I honestly think he's done in the league. The window of teams willing to take a chance on his has just about passed.
lets go pavel 2 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 i'm actually a bit disappointed ... i really hoped one of our rivals would shell out big time and count on him as their deadline acquisition only to have him gimp out ... now they may pick up someone who can actually play
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 I hated Floppa during the Avs rivalry, the whining, the diving, but I think the grief he's getting is hilarious. Basically he called it off because he didn't have enough confidence that he would remain healthy. Isn't that a more responsible, professional move than signing a big contract and not being able to play? damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. The guy is a great player. It's too bad his career has come to a sputtering end like this due to injury.

Turkey 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Amen, Harold. This guy has become a whipping boy just because he happens to have played for the other guy during what is now a totally dead rivalry. I hope he makes his comeback but I'm not counting on it at this point.
awingsincebirth 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 I honestly think he's done in the league. The window of teams willing to take a chance on his has just about passed. Ya really. Even if he decides maybe he might want to come back next year, would anyone honestly take him after this soap opera. To think that there were teams (I can only assume) that were ready to shell out like $4 mil for this guy for NEXT SEASON. Whoever would have signed him just got a lucky bounce. Forsberg is, as I like to say, a Fanny Bandit

It would be all the Wings needed for a team like Anaheim or San Jose to get him.
stormboy 47 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 i have to say that this conclusion is a bit hilarious after all the drama. it's over....or is it? mainly, i was just impressed that the TSN article used the word "wonky." kudos.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Maybe he's just tricking everyone, and he'll sign with the Ducks before their 1st playoff game, which will of course be after they trade for both Sundin and Hossa.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Not totally surprised. Petey was a great player (much as I hated him once). I am glad he decided to not take some team's money, just to wind up back on the shelf within a couple of games. Since he isn't coming to Detroit, I am glad he isn't going anywhere else -- just in case he managed to stay healthy.
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Classy move by Fopppa tbh. He could of milked whatever team gave him the biggest contract. and i read Chi-town offerd a huge on.. Proud of foppa for not letting money get the best of him.
vangvace 12 Report post Posted February 18, 2008 Well it's good to know that this is done until July when we can start the drama all over again.
Williams29fan 6 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 Well good, i didnt like forskin back in the 90's with the Avs, still didnt like him in Philly or Nashville! I was so happy when he told the wings no. I can only hope that no team will make an offer next season. w00t! Forskin is washed up and done.
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted February 19, 2008 And we though Federov loved the drama? Foppa takes the cake. God, what a prima donna. I don't care how good he was or still is, he is a drama queen.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted February 19, 2008 As long as I don't have to hear about this motherf**ker riding the fence about whether or not he's going to play anymore, I'm happy. He makes Brett Favre look decisive.
