Sundin will only waive no trade if 3 things happen

I think it might be possible that Kronwall is as close to untouchable as there is. The Wings are planning on him being the cornerstone of our D.

I also don't think Sundin is coming here. I have a feeling we will get a couple of lower quality players.

excellent point, your argument seems flawless. Even using eklund to confirm your rumor? Sturdy argument

Is this your realistic scenario or Fantasy Land scenario? I can't tell. Sturdy? What a lame word choice. LOL

I agree, i can't see sundin coming, I think Hossa has more of a chance of landing here

^^ i can go for Hossa if it means keeping Kronner but who then do we give up?

according to some folks on here the "top prospects" we send over are

Huder

sammuelsson

for

Hossa

Atlanta doesn't want a prospects deal, they want a "right-now" package.

I believe the original post to be purely speculation. I don't believe he's restricted himself to one team and I certainly don't believe he wants a two-year extension, even with Toronto.

I totally agree with you, that was the point of my first post. Leftwinger never responded to my reply that clarified my position.

You seem very knowledgeable to me. What do you think of my position that Kenny will most likely trade for PRospal of TB and Stuart of LA? Keep up the good posts. :)

...this arguing is silly. Kenny, get Sundin, Stuart and Fedorov, now see what happens and lick your wounds later. If you lose Kronner/Hudler/Kopecky/prospect who cares, you have players ready to come up next year, plus you always have July 1st to help rebuild...

...roll the dice Kenny...

I think Detroit is in the market for a Prospal, maybe a Nagy or Fedotenko.

I don't believe Sundin will be traded anywhere. I thought this was a Fantasy Land trade scenario thread. Next to Leaf fans, Wings fans are the most biased when it comes to trades. It usually amounts to the Wings giving up crap for other team's good players. The ones who disagree with this are the ones who come up with these unrealistic trades.

Anyway I believe Hossa will be traded but it will not be to the Wings. I see a desperate team like the Blues or Stars overpaying big time. I like Hossa in the regular season but I seen him be the Invisible Man when he was with the Sens in those series' against the Leafs. Great talent. Not sure on the "heart" part though.

This is where the Hossa supporters respond with "how do you know he'd do that in Detroit, the Sens had other players who also choked vs the Leafs and the Wings have had similar players who struggled in the playoffs but then went on to have post season success." ASave it. Heard it. No sense repeating it. Come up with something different. You'll be glad you did.

The Wings have the Cap space to be agressive but are not as deep in picks and prospects as other teams are. Plus the Wings are not deserpate like the Blues, Stars and other teams are. Holland has a price he is willing to pay and if it is too high then he will go with what he has. I have no problem with it. Just because the Wings have the Cap space does not mean they will use it.

I expect 1 or 2 moves by the Wings but they will be conservative most likely. Prospal and Stuart is what I see as being realistic. I could see the Habs giving up the farm for Hossa. I'd like to see Kenny go after Hossa as an UFA but I get the feeling that whichever team Marian is traded to, will most likely sign him to a contract extension in the neighbourhood of 7 milk per year.

With the Cap increasing Holland has said in the past the team could afford another high contract. The team operates under the Nick Lidstrom Salary Cap so as long as Hossa would not be making more money than him, I think the team could afford it long term and not hurt their ability to keep guys like Cleary.

If the Wings got Stuart I'd like to see him re-signed as well in the 4 mil per range. Of course with Z likely making 7 mil a season plus Cleary likely being around 2.5 then adding Hossa AND Stuart will make the payroll increase. I think they could do it. Would they do it? I'm not so sure. Hossa and Stuart are both in their primes so they would be good for a long time.

I'd just as soon wait until the summer and sign him as an UFA rather than give up prospects and picks at the deadline. I'd deal Hudler for him for sure if I could sign him long term when making the trade.

If the Wings could get both Sundin and Hossa (as well as have them re-sign extensions with them) and have to give both Filppula and Hudler...would it be worth it?

Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom

Cleary/Sundin/Hossa

Maltby/Draper/Franzen

who cares?

2 strong scoring lines and a shutdown checking line.

I never took you seriously before.

and this post pretty much solidifies my thoughts.

I disagree on Nagy. I don't see him on the Wings radar. Prospal and Fedotenko I can agree with. I like Trent Hunter on the Isles but I'd be surprised if they let him become an UFA.

i can dig it - as long as san jose or anaheim doesn't get sundin or hossa.

Looking at the rosters right now I don't see how any team eliminates the Ducks. You add Sundin to that team and they are pretty much guaranteed to win it barring a miracle.

I think the only team who can have any shot of eliminating the Ducks is Detroit. But I just don't see FLIP and Hudler providing the secondary scoring in the playoffs. I see Cleary raising his game once again but is that going to be enough? I don't think it is. I'd like to be wrong but I think most Wings fans realize that right now the Ducks are better than the Wings are going into the playoffs.

Fedotenko I definitely would like to see coming to the wings, Nagy........ahhh no thanks.Prospal just fits Holland's normal operating mode, veteran, only makes 1.9 mil per year could be had for less on a 2 year extension, and has really improved his two way game this year.

On defensemen, I wouldn't rule out Boyle of TB as on his list, not sure myself about him being the best Kenny could do though.

I believe that in your entire non life that no one has ever taken you seriously. But that is your business and you should not take out your insecurities on a hockey message board. I realize that idiots are on any board and you are a classic example and have the IQ of a grapefruit.

Anyway that is 20 seconds I will never get back. No more posting with you. Your feeble mind is taxing me.

The main problem here is that the players the Wings may be interested in...are players other teams want as well thus driving the price up. Boyle's game is perfect for the Wings much like Rafalski's is. Same for Campbell in Buffalo. The price for these players will be sky high next Tuesday and Holland likely knows this.

I like Stuart's game. He can skate, pass, shoot and blocks shots. I like his willingness to hit. He did not look good at all vs the Wings in the playoffs last year but I believe he was trying to do too much for the Flames when Regehr was injured. If he does not have to be one of the main guys then he will do fine. Kalinin plays a simple positional game and is a safe guy to get. He will not "wow" anyone but he does his job well. Not a flashy name but a guy who could play for the Wings and fill a need in the top 4 without having to give up too much.

Totally agree. If i had to make one guess, Fedotenko just strikes me as someone we'd end up with. Sundin will either stay in TO or go to Anaheim, and Hossa i think somebody we arent really hearing about will sneak up and get him. A team like Dallas perhaps, the rumor mill seems mysteriously quiet in regards to them.

No joke... i too would rather fancy Hossa, like who wouldnt?? the guy is younger w/much more upside than Sundin. the kicker is.. Hossa is a top-two forward on a team battling for a playoff spot!! hellloo... mcfly! even Don Waddell is not dumb enuf to move that kind of asset without bonafide talent coming in return.

The only reason we are even talking Sundin is cuz the Leafs are out of it. And in case if you haven't noticed... the Leafs actually want to trade Mats!

One question that hasn't been answered yet - If Sundin lands in Detroit, what number will he wear?

He would be wearing the number "31" in a red and white technicoloured jersey.
