There are quite a few Wings fans here that thought we were king s*** and could beat any team in the league when we were kicking everyone's butt. Well, as soon as the boys get healthy we'll still be that team in your eyes so no deadline deals today probably shouldn't bother you folks at all.

For those of us who've felt we aren't big enough or tough enough, looking at the names that traded hands, there wasn't a whole lot that would've made us happy. Or made me, personally happy. Although I could've stomached Lapointe. But maybe DMac will take care of that so. Either way, we knew Kenny wasn't going to mortgage the farm and that no Wade Belak's were going to join this lineup so we're relegated to feeling like we always feel, that the Wings aren't big enough or tough enough so we're keeping our fingers crossed.

Then we have those folks who've been clamboring for more secondary scoring. For you folks, I feel bad for ya. You got a legit gripe that isn't nearly as impossible to fill as those of us wanting to get bigger and tougher. Prospal might've been an option here. That's a bummer for you folks and I totally understand your frustration today.

For those of you who are just giving Holland the business because he didn't pick up this guy or that. Holy crap do you people need help. I don't even know where to start. It's like you have this belief that no GM can negotiate a deal with another one until approaching the Wings first to see if we want said player and will pay less for him than the next GM. Give me a break.

From where i'm sitting, we're about where we were last year. If the injury bug passes and everyone gets back and DMac hits the lineup. Then i'll take my chances. Last year's squad wasn't big or tough enough for me but they nearly did it. Maybe they can this year to. My fingers are definitely crossed.

Anybody who is upset about Hossa. Holy crap did the Pens give up a lot. Esposito and a 1st? That's the benefit of drafting high and having Sid, Malkin, Fleury, Whitney and Staal I suppose.

I like this team. I'm still pretty sure we aren't big enough to compete with Anaheim but you never know. That's why we play the damned games anyway.

GO WINGS!

PS: If Ken Holland isn't the best GM in all of professional sports. He deserves top 10-15 recognition. He's elite.

I posted this prior to Stuart. If we got Stuart i'm feeling much, much better already. Whew.

:clap::clap::clap:

Calm, reasonable, logical, not riddled with CAPs and profanities. I think you should move this post to another thread my friend.

I know the analysts said it.

It's a dumb point. The Wings always dominate in the regular season. And lately they dominate in the regular season only to be upset in the postseason because "Whoops! In retrospect, we probably should have patched those holes when we had the opportunity. But hey, at least we have this here Presidents' Trophy Woo ha!"
