esteef 2,679 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Thought it deserved it's own thread... McCarty WILL join the Wings a week from Monday! "There seems to be some misinformation floating around about Darren McCarty's status, so I asked Wings general manager Ken Holland to clarify. This is what Holland told me: McCarty will join the Red Wings a week from Monday, after his two-week conditioning stint in Grand Rapids is done. And he will remain with the Wings through the end of the playoffs. Holland said there is absolutely no chance that McCarty will remain in Grand Rapids past the conditioning stint because he can't be waived. The deadline for putting a player on waivers, Holland said, was last Monday, prior to the NHL trade deadline. So even though McCarty was listed on the Griffins' 22-man Clear Day roster, he's not eligible to play for Grand Rapids in the playoffs. " Mlive http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20..._join_wing.html Looks like he'll be in against Chicago! esteef Edited March 1, 2008 by esteef

He and that beanbag Kopecky are doing nothing to prove their spot on this team. Actually, who the hell is?

Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 Could Mac have the same impact as Joey did back in 97? I think he will play some games before the playoffs so Babs can see where he is at. I'd have him and Downey on the roster, with Franzen as their C on the 4th line.

Much rather have Drake play with Downey on the fourth and let Draper and Maltby kind of carry MAC somewhat. Drake is in better shape to make up for Downey. As far as fighting is concerned?... Downey-Drake-McCarty Lilja-Stuart We're good. esteef Edited March 1, 2008 by esteef

Ericsson should replace Lebda and be the other fighter in that top 5 you put together.

55fan 5,133 Report post Posted March 1, 2008 I looked at NHL.com's roster and saw #25 Darren McCarty as a healthy scratch and even though he wasn't playing, it felt so good to see his name there that I actually got teary-eyed. Welcome back Mac! As far as lines go- I'd like the Grind line reunited; with Drake, Mac, and Downey as the "oh, you guys are gonna get it now" line. OK, maybe something a bit more threatening than that.
