c'mon d-bag is perfectly acceptable. should we switch to "wow, you are a feminine hygene product?"

there is a time and a place for cursing, and I don't want to see the ability to use it taken away.

Thanks Matt. I brought this up in the CS forum last year. I'm not a saint or anything of the sort, but these forums always seemed populated by intelligent individuals who rarely had to resort to cursing. There's a time and place for everything. I think this will continue to make LGW the best forum on the net.

I stopped posting a lot because I simply don't use the terms douchebag or cocksucker in normal day activites and thus I wouldn't see why I would use it on here...It has become more apparent that you NEED to call some one those terms in order to qualify for a "cool" and "knowledge" post.

Oh well I will continue to be "uncool" and "civil" somewhere else.

I'm going to have to think of some other adjectives now to describe Pronger or Iginla with these new rules.

Can't help with Iginla as I don't have much of a problem with him (far from one of my faves, just don't class him with Pronger).

As for Pronger:

Arrogant, Bratty, Classless, Dorky, Egotistical, Fickle, Grating, Horrible, Instigating, Jerky, Kinesque, Lousy, Monsterous, Neandrathalic, Overgrown, Psychotic, Quibbling, Repugnant, Slimy, Terrible, Underhanded, Verminesque, Worthless, Xerostomic, Yipping, Zebra-kissing idiot who doesn't even know where his blessed elbows are at any given moment.

Yeah, I know, I was reaching on a few of those. Especially X. I challenge anyone to do better.

Point being, yes, we can insult even Pronger without resorting to fowl language. Stupid Ducker, that he is.

...with these new rules.

FYI: They are not new rules. It's been the policy here for years. Recently, however, people have abused the lack of a filter here and it's high time for a refresher course of said rules and guidelines.

It's funny that everyone seems to be offended by all these non-PC terms yet Osgod can have

<--------------------------------------------------- THAT for an avatar!!!!!!

LOL J/K Os!

Edit- Stupidity....please refer to Osgod's current Avatar not the avatar my arrow points to for maximum humor. :)

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that you mentioned Duck and Fowl in the same sentence...

Yeah, it was intentional. You know, foul language. Foul sounds like Fowl. Ducks are Fowl.

Kind of a play on words.

One other question:

Is there a limit on which dieties can be mentioned in circumstances that have nothing to do with them? It seems like Jesus (and/or) Christ gets all the interjective use around here. Shouldn't we be more open and inclusive in our blaspheming?

Thank you. We don't get to attend too many Wings games living in So Cal. My son is 14 and loves the Wings. He also plays hockey out here. Sad thing is I have to keep him off this site because of the language. Really don't understand why people have to use foul language. I guess maybe it makes them feel like a big man, etc... Would be nice to see it stop so my kids can enjoy this great website. Cheers!

While I have not been a perfect angel, I have tried to avoid using the more "serious" curse words anywhere online. I use subsitutions instead. It's kind of fun to figure out different ways to drop an f-bomb. LOL I've used "freaking" "fricking" "farting"...my new favorite is "forking." ;) I use the misspellings "shyte" "beeyotch" and the French spelling "batarde." There are ways to curse without actually doing it - you've just got to get creative!

But I will add my thanks, too, Matt - cursing does have it's place, especially when you are as passionate about your team as we are about the Red Wings. But some of the posts have been nothing but curse words. And I second the posters who are saying to watch not only for curse words, but for racially and ethnically insulting words, as well as derogatory terms having to do with sexual preference and intelligence. It's just as bad to refer to someone as a "retard" or a "flaming homo" as it is to call someone a "n****r."

I don't mind the cursing cause you are pissed... like OH f***!!!! but when you start telling posters to f*** them selves or saying you are a ******* douchbag you prick... that is where it SHOULD NOT be tolerated... That is where i have a problem...

A bad goal... sure f*** works...

A bad thought (aka opposite of your own)... calling that person a ******* Prick! does not work.

Nobody on here deserves to be called that regardless of freedom of speech or what.. And to be truthfully honest if the people using that language in here, use it in real life on someone... I hope to god they get their asses handed to them... that language is way out of line!

Of course i am guessing those using that language in here are tough by virtue of Internet alone... once the monitor isn't in front of them i am sure they are the first to run away.

Kawamee is trying his best to bring that word back into fashion....

I thought we buried that word here in Detroit with a ceremony no less... guess now that February is over its fair game again.
