The Red Wings playing style currently makes them among the 5 most boring teams to watch in the NHL (regular season).

Florida, Toronto, Edmonton, St. Louis, Chicago, Ottawa (currently).. sometimes Dallas, NASHVILLE, and i just dont like the devils, are more boring to watch than Detroit.

In fact the only team I find insanely amusing to watch is Washington.

Detroit is amazing because of Datsyuk and Zetterberg.. I love to watch them.

The most boring teams in the NHL are as follows...

1. NEW JERSEY

2. St. Louis

3. NY Islanders

4. Florida

5. Colorado

Are amongst the most boring the way I see it.

That's my bold statement and I'm sticking to it.

If this team is so exciting, why do people practically crap their pants from excitement when Downey is out there for his 4 and half minutes of ice time?

It's because they know something will happen during his shift. A big hit, a fight. Something interesting.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy the Wings are winning, but if I'm being honest, I find myself bored during a lot of their games. To the point where I thought I was losing interest in hockey. then I'd watch some other teams play and realized I still loved the game, the Wings style was just extremely effective and dull.

Cup wins aside, you don't have to go back very far to when the team was much more exciting to watch. Shanny, Stevie, Fedorov, Larionov, McCarty, Konstantinov, Kozlov, Kocur, Fischer. Looking down our current roster, the excitement level drops way down once you go past our first line.

Toronto is because they're pathetic. I disagree with Chicago, who just played a great game against Anaheim and has a lot of young players, Ottawa, and Dallas I would've agreed with until lately. Nashville I can't really say because I just hate them too much.

I don't think Jersey is #1 anymore. They're not the team of old.

Some teams may be more boring now because they're out of the playoff hunt, but taking into account the whole season, I still think the Wings are right up there.

I absolutely agree about Hank and Pavel. But then you get past them and...

Sammy? Hudler? Filppula? Franzen? Kopecky?

The game will be played with 4 refs on the ice, and 4 off. Then, and only then, maybe one of these blind mice could follow the puck.

*ques up three blind mice song* ;D

No matter how much I hate the idea, nets will be bigger in the next three years. My hope is that it's only by 4 inches in each direction. Nets expanding by 4" left, right, and up will not do that much for scoring, but enough for them to leave them alone.

Joe Thornton will play for the Detroit Red Wings before he retires.

Sergei Fedorov will never again.

Larry Aurie's name and number should be in the rafters, and Ilitch is a dick for not putting it there. It doesn't need a ceremony, it was retired before banner hanging was a tradition, but it IS retired so just hang the friggin' banner.

Bold rebuttal:

Nobody will ever reach 2000 points again unless nets or goalie equipment are DRASTICALLY altered. If that happens, Gretzky's records will be shattered by more than one player (obviously).

Good point. I'm trying to stay loyal to NHIC, but CBC can get stuffed for making me watch Toronto every weekend.

... wait ... is it a bold statement that someone disapproves of Toronto on team. Damn, I'm firing balnks.

Ya I hate watching the Leafs every Saturday too. So now I just go out and get drunk every Saturday.

in 2012 goals will be 10 feet wide and goalies must play in their underwear and a wooden switch they cut before the game, and Bettmen will still blame low attendance and ratings on lack of offense...not his own s***ty running of the NHL

By the end of their respective careers, Alexander Ovechkin will have more goals and points then Sidney Crosby, HOWEVER Crosby will be looked at as being the better player, unfortunately.

By the end of their respective careers, we will have heard ten billion people bitching about how much media coverage Crosby gets as opposed to Ovechkin - and some how those whiners won't even be sick of it, as if it is some personal foul upon them, personally.

The Ducks will lose in round 1

The Leafs will make the playoffs

the NHL will have 32 teams by 2012 (Balsillie in Hamilton, Seattle) and 34 by 2020 (Vegas, Winnipeg/Eastern Canada)... Playoff format will remain top 16

Finishing 6th in the East is better than finishing any other position, as you play the weak winner of the Southeast Division, who will likely have less points than the team that finishes in 9th.... While 1st gets to play the team that's been playing playoff hockey for weeks trying to get into that 8th spot.....

(not as "bold" as the others but) Washington will win the Southeast

Carolina got incredibly lucky to win the Cup in 2005-2006 (First round down 2-0 Koivu goes down with eye injury, career in question, demoralizes team; New Jersey had an injury and Brodeur was off his game after playing too many during the season; Buffalo was missing 4 of their top 6 defenseman; Edmonton lost their number 1 goalie who was the main reason they got to the finals in the first place; and they still took 7 games to win)......

Alfredsson did not intentionally shoot the puck at Niedermayer last SCF

Gary Bettman has done more good for the NHL than bad

Steve Moore deserves absolutely nothing from Todd Bertuzzi

My BOLD statement,

The NHL will not be watched on TV because no one will care enough to put it on thier stations. There will be only a handful of teams and tickets will be practicaly free.

Thanks Bettmen
