Pronger at it again

Brian Burke "You know with the size of Chris Prongers feet, it'd be almost impossible for him to actually hit the ice first, the other player just happened to be in the way" Sound like it could be something familiar coming from Burke (he didn't ACTUALLY say this....just the Homer hit....I'm referencing)

And yes, I hate PINEAPPLE head. He reminds me of the dude in beetlejuice that tries to cut in front of the voodoo guy in the death line office and as a result gets his head shrunken for cutting in front of him.

I HATE PRONGER.

And let me tell you if he HAD hit Yzerman during that playoff game. I would've been LIVID.

I have a dream:

Tootoo leaves his feet (of course) to smash Pronger in the face (when he's not ready of course), knocking him out cold. Then Brad May beats Tootoo to a bloody pulp for all the world to see at center ice.

I would cream my shorts!

Why are you guys all so upset, this is no surprise by the league. We all know that Campbell and Bettman are in bed with Burke every night. We all know Pronger is the birth child of these three.

Anyways the other owners will soon wise up too what's happening and split to form a new league just like when the NHL formed way back when the owners were upset about how the NHA was ran.

Glad Ryan was not seriously hurt on that play...

Pronger should go around knocking off everybody... the league will turn its head the other way.. Hell think of how many people he could injure if he wanted to!!! ..... INJURY...One-game... INJURY... one-game. Damn 41 games of 41 players injured... And 41 "one-game suspensions at best" ... NHL best damn league around!

Wow. As if I needed another reason to hate Pronger. Seeing the video, shows it was a deliberate act. You can’t argue he was off balance, or just taking a stride to skate away. Kesler tried to tie up Pronger’s feet , Pronger gets mad and stomps on Kesler’s leg. As far as I’m concerned that video is the smoking gun. And the NHL does nothing … unbelievable ( kinda)

Agreed 100%. Disgusting.

Any chance Simon sues the NHL for his wages during the suspension based on this video?

After looking at the video, I think Pronger's may have been worse.

I was reading allducks.com -- unbelievable.

The big deal is.... wait for it.... turns out Kesler may have actually been attempting to hold Pronger's leg in a scissor-lock!!! OMG!

Pronger should have slit his throat from ear-to-ear for that. See if he ever tries that again!

ahahaha that was good, it made me laugh. But really, like all the interference and grabbing, clutching, dirty hits that Anaheim gives, you think they'd be able to take just a little bit of the same thing back? I guess not

Ok, I was exaggerating a bit there... :)

But the general consensus is "Kesler is a whiney b*tch" and "Good call NHL!"

They are also discriminated against because they are not a canadian team.

I'm curious if any of them actually knew who Pronger was before he came to Anaheim?

The TSN article says that Kesler was not injured on the play. Someone posted earlier in this thread that there is hardly any protection on the calf. How is it possible that Kesler did not get hurt? I watched the video and I think what Pronger did was definitely intentional and absolutely wrong. There is no way he was pushing off or anything like that. However, I am genuinely wondering how hard he actually stomped, given that there was no injury. I don't think it makes a difference because in my mind it is the intent that should matter, but I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to equipment or anything like that, because I am just shocked there was no injury here. I understand how the skate would have protected the guy from the Simon stomp, but like I said, someone said that the calf doesn't have much protection. I'm just wondering how Kesler avoided injury. I'm not in any way trying to excuse what Pronger did. He is a dirty, dirty player, and this incident is no different. I'm just wondering about the lack of injury, that is all.

You could actually step on your bare skin with a skate (or knife, or whatever) and not draw a drop of blood... if there is no slashing/motion. I'd say this is a case where it was lucky that did not happen. It was a pretty up-and-down stomp, so that helped. Still incredibly dangerous though.

Similarly to football pads where you can greatly notice the pads covering the front of the thighs, hockey pads do the same but in more discrete manner. Just like football pads there isn't any protection on the inner thigh where Pronger stomped on Kesler. My thought is that he just barely caught enough of the frontal pad that it absorbed the brunt of the blow.

Does that make sense?

Edit: egroen makes a solid point as well.

Thanks for clearing that up guys! It makes more sense now. Thank God there was no injury, becuase that could have been awful. As others have said, someone needs to give Pronger a beat down. I really hate him, and I think hate is a very strong word. He is the spawn of Satan (aka Burke).
