i thought the league did actually play 84 games up untill the mid 90's

The league played 80 games through the late 70s and into the early 90s. In 1992-93, the league jumped from 22 to 24 teams, and the schedule was changed to an 84 game schedule that included two neutral-site games. This schedule was also used for 1993-94. The lockout of 1994 caused a shortened schedule of 48 games. After the lockout, the league dropped the neutral site games and gave way to the current 82-game slate.

if you do some more checking you'll discover that Yzerman wasn't the only player that played 84 games that season.

I was just gonna say that...

Just thought I would add to this most utterly useless of threads.

You should add your avatar to EVERY thread, useless or not. Hell, adding it makes the thread usefull.

Yeah really. Every thread LTD posts in automatically becomes interesting.

Who's the girl on the left in your avatar? Please tell me she's single, because she's hot!

I was wondering that too...not necessarily for the same reason but because she looks just like my ex gf

But I'm almost dead certain its not haha

i think he's said before that its his sister.

No, I thought the sister is the one on the right. Also, I'm not sure whether the poster is a guy or not.

This is a serious LGW question that needs to be cleared up now.

I guess there's nothing else to talk about before the playoffs begin.

Gee, you couldn't have been with her long. I'd recognise any of my ex's in a photo.

Lol well to be honest with you its her smile that triggers the familiarity but I definitely agree. I've seen my ex at school and recognized her from her back side haha...I'm not sure if thats a good or bad thing

Just had one of those moments though when I saw the picture and was like "woah, is it...nahhh."

Yet, I get banned for speaking my mind. Poking fun at some LGW (some fun arguments), and bascially doing what everyone else does on this forum. Supposevly I was un-banned last week, don't remember the exact date... but yeah... I kept browsing since I have this site bookmarked anyways (and have been a fan of it for years) and people have said worse s*** than me. No offense by what is it, do you have to be some elite poster who has been posting on boards for years or what, I don't get it.

Either way, lay off this guys back. He was checking stats, came across Yzerman's profile and was sharing it with you guys. I'm sure one of you guys have done it in the past, yet everyone here blows it out of proportion and now things have spawned off topic, you might as well close this damn thread already.

The funny thing about this thread? Yzerman played 84 games that year, but there was a Wing that season who played more games. Jimmy Carson, who was traded to Los Angeles halfway through the season, ended up playing 86 games that year.

Carson's total games played, including playoffs was a then-record 104 games, tied with Montreal's Vincent Damphousse, set in the same season. They would drop to a tie for 6th place after the 1993-94 season, which saw Trevor Linden play 108 games, Brian Leetch and Adam graves see action in 107, and Esa Tikkanen and Geoff Courtnall play in 106 contests.
